Formula 1 Grand Prix Competition
Terms and Conditions

1. Entry

1.1 Information provided in the ITV1 Grand Prix programme (“programme”) on the website and in SMS messages on how to enter the competition and on the prizes form part of these terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”).

1.2 Entry is only open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over. Employees and members of their immediate families (including any live-in partner) of the Pize Provider (see the end of these Terms and Conditions below for details), companies within the ITV group of companies and any of their subsidiaries and/or agencies associated with this competition are ineligible to enter. Any such entries will be invalid. Entry to the competition signifies acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

1.3 The opening date and time for the competition is 15:00 on Friday 26 May 2006 and the closing date and time for entries is 23:59 on Thursday 1 June 2006. Any entries received before or after these times will be discounted.

In order to enter, eligible entrants must answer the question asked.

1.4 Entry to the competition is by:

(i) premium rate phone call, or
(ii) SMS or
(iii) post.

Entrants may enter the competition as many times as they wish. Only one winner will be selected for the prize. Only one prize per person is permissible.

(i) Phone entry: Phone entrants are required to call the Premium Rate Telephone Number 0901 293 2020 and follow the instructions in the recorded message to answer the relevant multiple-choice question asked. Entrants will be asked to leave their full name and a landline contact telephone number (including area code).

The charge per call will be £1.00. Call costs are based on using BT network phones. Standard network charges apply. The total cost will be dependent on the entrant’s network. Other landline and mobile operators’ network charges may vary. Neither the Producer nor the Promoter accepts responsibility for any call charges.

Entrants must have the permission of the bill payer before calling. Each entrant will be charged the cost outlined in these terms whether the entry to the competition is successful or not. The Promoter will not be liable to reimburse expenses incurred in making an entry or calling the Premium Rate Telephone Number.

Once the Premium Rate Telephone Number is dialled and the entrant is connected, he/she will be charged the cost displayed on the screen (together with any applicable alternative network or mobile operators' charge). The Promoter does not accept responsibility for any interruption to any telephone call which is beyond the control of the Promoter.

Entrants may be able to enter the competition from outside the United Kingdom (although entry is restricted to UK residents) but charges will depend on the relevant service provider’s international call rates. There is no warranty that the service is available or appropriate for use in locations outside the UK.

(ii) SMS entry: Entrants are required to send a text to 63337 with the keyword F1 plus A, B or C. The charge per text will be £1.00 plus standard network charges. The total cost will therefore be dependent on the entrant’s network. SMS entrants may receive a bounce back SMS message inviting them to enter an additional SMS competition.

Entrants may be able to enter the competition from outside the UK (although entry is restricted to UK residents). There is no warranty that the service is available or appropriate for use in locations outside the UK. Charges for entering the competition will depend on the relevant service provider’s international text message rates. Charges will be deducted from the entrant’s available credit time if they are a pre-pay customer or appear on their monthly statement if they are pay monthly customer. Each entrant will be charged the cost outlined in these Terms and Conditions whether the entry to the competition is successful or not.

(iii) Postal entry: Please send a post card with your answer, full name, email address and a landline contact telephone number (including area code) to: FI Competition ITV Interactive Comp, PO BOX 49754, London WC1X 8WR. Entries sent by post must reach ITV Consumer by Thursday 1 June 2006. The Promoter does not accept responsibility for any incorrectly addressed or undelivered entries or for any disruption, delay or misdirection of postal entries.

2. The Prize

2.1 All eligible entries received containing the correct answer to the relevant question shall be entered into a draw. The first entry to be drawn at random from all eligible entries who answered the question correctly will win the prize. The draw will take place on the day after the closing date and time for entries to the competition, on Friday 2 June 2006.

2.2 The prize is a Honda Civic Type-R car. The prize will come with road tax and petrol. A similar car will be used at the British Grand Prix to demonstrate the prize, however, the colour and specification of this car may be different to that of the prize. For the avoidance of doubt, the prize excludes any associated costs and expenses such as car insurance, and the winner shall pay any and all applicable taxes on the prize (other than the first payment of road tax). The winner must be aged 18 years or over.

2.3 The winner will be contacted on the day of the draw on the phone number they provided when entering the competition and given details of how to claim his or her prize.

2.4 If, when contacted on the phone number provided when entering the competition, the winner cannot be reached because he or she do not answer within 4 rings or the line is busy or the call is interrupted, disturbed or in any affected by any circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, then the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant drawn at random who has answered the question correctly and thereafter until a winner is found.

2.5 The Prize Provider endeavours to deliver the prize to the winner’s nearest Honda dealership within nine weeks of the draw. The winner shall be notified of the date of delivery.

2.6 No cash equivalent or alternative prize will be given and the prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable. However, the Promoter reserves the right to change the prize due to circumstances beyond its control or to offer an alternative of similar value.

2.7 In the event that the winner does not, or is unable to, comply with and meet these Terms and Conditions, the Promoter shall be entitled at its discretion to disqualify the winner, without any further liability to the winner.

2.8 Subject to clause 4.5, The Promoter and the Prize Provider do not accept responsibility for any damage, loss or disappointment suffered by any entrant as a result of entering the competition or of accepting any prize.

3. Data Protection

3.1 The Promoter (or any third party nominated by the Promoter) may use the winner’s and their companion’s name and image and their comments relating to the prize and competition experience for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice or without any fee being paid. However, save as set out in this clause, information and data ("personal data") which is provided by an entrant when they enter will be held and used by the Promoter, the ITV Group and their suppliers and contractors in order to administer the competition. Entrants’ personal data may also be passed to their cellular phone provider or to relevant regulatory bodies, the police or other authorities in the course of the investigation of any complaints or suspected unlawful activity or where requested by the phone provider in connection with the billing arrangements for the competition. Aggregate, non personal data may also be used for the purpose of undertaking market research or in facilitating reviews, developments and improvements to relevant services.

3.2 Any personal data will only otherwise be used in accordance with ITV’s privacy policy and the Promoter’s (where different). ITV’s privacy policy can be viewed at www.itv.com. ITV will only use an entrant’s data to send information of offers or services that may be of interest to that entrant from time to time by email, SMS or post or pass the entrant’s data to carefully selected third parties in accordance with the marketing preferences that that entrant may have selected. To opt-out of receiving any marketing communications from ITV, entrants can amend their marketing preferences at any time by sending an email by going to www.itv.com/itvi/help or calling 0845 055 0011 and giving their name, email address or responding to the opt-out mechanisms in the relevant communication itself. To opt-out of receiving any further communications from third party companies, entrants should contact them directly. To request that ITV does not continue to provide the personal data of an entrant to any third parties for marketing purposes, entrants should send an email setting this out at www.itv.com/itvi/help.
