00 Civic Si vs 01 civic Ex
00 Civic Si vs 01 civic Ex
i lined up next to my friend with a 00 si with i/h/e,vtec controller, and cam gears and i have i/h/e and we both agreed we would go to the next light because i had to make a left. the light quickly turned green b4 i could rev it up to launch but he managed to get his launch off so i started out as i would at any normal light. he obviously beat me off the line but i cought up and stayed side to side with him until we got to the light. he didnt know wat to say to me because he talks all this **** about sohc's saying theyre weak as hell so he called me rite after and was like "i missed second gear" which he obviously didnt.
he didnt miss a gear because he has the loudest exhaust and it didnt appear at all that he missed a gear because inbetween shifting his exhaust becomes completely silent and it didnt when we were going
I'm not going to sit here and call BS or try to down talk you at all. All I'm going to say is that he definitely missed a shift or he was an incredibly terrible driver. With the mods that he has done to that car, it should be running mid to upper 14's with a good driver. Well, anything can happen on the street so nice run man. Props to you for being a better driver.

stock 00 si manual 140whp
stock 01 ex manual 110whp
not to mention the Si responds much better to mods, especially if the vtec controler and cam gear were tuned. He must've been a terrible driver.

or you're full of it.
i'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say that your friend can't drive to save his life. A 6th gen Si with i/h/e vafc and cam gears is capable of probably a 14.4.

Whats the big deal an EX should be capable of high 14's since its gearing is better. If a DX can pull 15.1 with a few mods
why couldnt someone with an EX hit high 14's?Correct S2000man?

ES Motor mounts (rear did not fit had to cut)
So this is the recipe to low 15's? "lol"

The guy didnt miss shift because I've been in the same situatiuon with a friend of mine, but my races lasted through 3rd gear and its in 3rd where the 7th gen begins to lose, not 2nd. I wasnt using nitrous at the time if anyone is dumb enough to ask.

I raced an SI with the same mods, minus the cam gear and beat him with a 15.7 to his 15.8. So yeah there are some bad drivers out there or maybe his tuning was ****ed up. The one Si that did manage to beat me started pulling away slowly in third, 1st through second we were even, even with my shitty launch. Ask 1320racing he was right behind us. The SI should win with a good driver and proper tuning against your average 7thgen with I/h/E, but it's not always the case.
Good kill. On the street you never know what could happen.
Dizzle when are you gonna let me know where you are from so maybe we can set something up? You talk **** but you avoid my question. Your missing the point that my car weighs 400lbs less then the avg Ex and I have no power steering and a crank pulley which most people don't, plus I run on DR's or my forged 17's(lighter and less rotational inertia than stock EX wheels).

Unless its a DH racing 20 whp crank pulley(
), it aint gonna do much. Our oem pulleys only weigh about 8 lbs. It would be more beneficial to upgrade the flywheel which is 23 lbs to an aftermarket one that weights 13 lbs.
Trust me man i would love to own your ***, but i live in vegas.
Where exactly did you get this weight loss of 200 lbs?
