Ran into someone with an sr20 with exhaust. Factory turbo putting 200+ hp. I saw him pass me so I switch lanes caught up passed him switch back to the left lane so we would both be at a stop at a red light. I talked to him, wanna go one time? he said, " its stock turbo though with exhaust" so We waited for the light and he was staying still so I just said go and boned out a car length ahead and I was up with him. When it was 3rd gear his car couldnt keep up. Then he just pulled back and gave up because he couldnt beat me but he was close. This was in the streets in daylight.

lol call him bad driver all you want but he was driving good. He had a silvia not the 240. His was jdm. It was not 240 because it didnt look like it unless he did a conversion.

We lined up at a stop light. He didnt go when it turned green ( I was waiting for him) then I said go and he lifted off. It took me to second gear til I started facing him. By third I was long gone and as soon as he saw my car was beating his, he just slowed down. After that we talked some more and gave each other a heads up for our drive home. Funny because I heard no bov and he told me factory turbo dont need bov. His car was 5spd and looked really nice. Way nicer than the 240s. I did beat him and he did say he was squeezing a 50 shot but didnt use it. He shouldve used it cuz I know he would beat me with a 50shot.

What I hate is when people try to be dicks especially on freeway and they have a headstart and they think they won by going max speed without a real race. This race was a real one from start to end. FYI s200man I know for sure Im running 210+ torque with max 200 whp.

and "call him a bad driver but he was driving good" is a contradiction in terms. Someone who loses to a 15.1 civic in a low 14 second car is not a "good driver".

I'm not trying to detract from your win. I'm simply stating you should be aware of how fast an sr20det S13 is.

an 80 shot on an otherwise stock civic is not going to give you 200whp. you're more likely around 170whp.

Hey guess what, that Nissan, had he been even a FAIRLY good driver woulda ate you alive. First, SR motors come in 3 trims, with the lowest model putting out 205+ hp at the crank (225 and then 250 respectivly for the 14 and 15 models). Second, RWD will own you any day of the week, only to be second bested by AWD from the dig. Seriosuly Redline, your nitrous may have won that battle, but had the driver of the 240 actually had arms you woulda lost.

Edit: This takes into an account it was either a fastback or an s14 before or after MC, ebcause hardley anyone puts the non turbo sr20de's in them, almost everyone will dump the det in them.

um no they are only 205 hp for red top I think? it wasnt the right hand side driver it was left. But Ive seen other 240s with red tops. 205 hp isnt at the wheels, maybe180 185 or even less. Some stock swaps only go to 150 whp. He told me his bottle was empty.

Ok, first off before you start talking like you know Nissans, don't. Your right it only makes 205 at the crank, good thing I didn't say at the wheels. Both the SR20DET redtop AND the blacktop (S13, 180sx for blacktop) made that number. And that's at stock boost, which once again not that many people run. Second, there is the S14 version (before and after MC) that was a blacktop and was compltely flat headed. That made apprx 225 hp on a t28 turbo. Finally we have the Black top engine from the S15 which can be identified by it's sloped headm on the number 4 runner side. That mad about 250 at the crank with a T28BB. I'm not saying you didn't beat him, I'm saying that he sucked at driving, and then you get to account for the fact the he paid probably about LESS than half what you paid for everything. If he throws a boost controller in his car, that engine can easily make over 250+ hp, and with a stock bottom end adn upgraded turbo those cars have made over 450+hp. Find a real Nissan enthusiast and he'll walk you lol. That guy couldent drive, and I stil say if he could he woulda layed waste to you.

hmm.. I only paid 9k for my car with 40k miles on it. If he did engine swap it wouldve costed him 10k above. So what do you mean that mine was more?
It was a friendly race and he goes to my friends shop too so I will probably go there and see him one day and ask what he actually has. People were honking behind us.
Also, I just had my nitrous back on this morning and it was cold. My bottle wasnt even in the yellow. If it was in the yellow I wouldve gotten more hp or if in the green way more hp than what I got earlier. Nitrous pressure matters too.

otherwise, he'd have a JDM engine. and how did you know he had a the JDM engine? and if it was a silvia, then he wouldn't have had to do a swap, since the silvia, to my knowledge, comes with the sr20det.

anyways, before this gets too off topic... the bottom line is we aren't saying we dont believe you. but dont say that he was driving good, because he wasn't. you wont the race, but he had a decently faster car.

Ive actually tested it out with the 04 accord v6. I didnt say I was running 200whp either, I said 200whp max because I know Im running around there probably below but no more than 200.
Im running dc stainless headers, greddy evo-2 catback, aem v2, ground wires, mr cat, aem pulleys and wideband also has a/f ratio. I was running way rich because I was 2 psi lower than what it was supposed to be. When and if the bottle pressure ison the green side then I would gained much more hp.
