sentra, camaro, S2000
The whistle goes woo wooooo. Well.... at least the exhaust on the sentra did. I'm not really sure what it was that was making that noise, but it sounded like a cross between a home made blow off valve, and the woo woo mod.
He drew my attention while nearing the freeway on ramp, and I had the displeasure of hearing his car while behind him as we merged on to the freeway. I'm wondering if the noise might have also been simply because his exhaust was so damn huge, that I was half tempted to pull him over and try to put my head inside his exhaust like a lion tamer does to a lion's mouth. I could have shoved a 3 year old child into that thing. I don't remember seeing any other mods, but like a monkey staring at his *********, i could not take my eyes off that exhaust.
So as I'm starting to pass him, his car draws the attention of mullet fred in his camaro. A nice shiny red camaro SS. The SS and the sentra start flirting with each other. They do the "race me" dance for so long, I thought they might exchange numbers for a date before they would ever get to a race.
I quietly move my little car into the far right lane, and sneak up to the sentra's right side. I get a little attention from the sentra, and the camaro starts to move. We're going about 80mph already, and finally get a run. The sentra quickly falls out of the picture and into my rear view. The camaro on the other hand, is certainly not giving up the ghost so quickly.
We couldn't be more dead even if we tried. Finally around 110mph I start to pull on him. I'm thinking he wasn't stock, cuz I probably should have started pulling on him a bit earlier. From experience I know our 4th gear is a bit stronger than theirs. Either way, I start to pull, and by 5th gear, I'm pulling a lot, and we're getting into some high digits. I shut down at 135mph, and he's maybe 3-4 cars behind by then. he gives a quick thumbs up, and then moves ahead to hit his exit.

How romantic
star crossed lovers
What mods do you have to your s2000, and what year camaro was it, pre or post 98?? Kinda of find it surprising if it is a 98+ because 0-100 on a 2002 camaro ss 11.8 seconds. S2000 0-100 in 14.1 seconds. Camaro's are not slouches on top end, and I realize gears and driver have a factor, just saying ss should have had the edge. Good kill.

no it was a 97 LT1 from the looks of it. and the race pretty much went as I expected from a 97 LT1 SS. One of my best friends has one, and me and him are dead even on a race in just about any fashion, until we get to 4th gear or so. then i slowly start to pull. we've raced more times than i can count.
a 98+ LS1 camaro would work me hard at that speed.
but the 0-100 in 11.8 seconds on an LS1 SS is way off. it's a fast car, but it's not that fast. lol. stock LS1's should be in the low/flat 13's area. not breaking 11's.

even so, it wont hold a candle to an LS1. give em a good run for his money, but wont beat it. though an auto LS1 is a little closer.

Nice now we have a stereotyper.....I happen to drive domestics too. It's a shame to get lost in one company, you really would miss out on some great cars.
