The biggest improvement you could make is cutting a better light. You should be in the .540 range consistently. That'll make you competitive without redlighting too often. Presuming your driving a civic, the 60s look consistent with the rest of the run. If your tires are spinning off the line, that'll cost you a tenth or two. However, the times are pretty good for a civic.

How much HP are you putting out and how much does your car weigh?
Might be able to get a better idea of what you should be running.
What rpm are you launching? Are you bogging off the line? Are you shifting between gears as fast as possible?

Those numbers are just like a Spec-V with a good driver.

your reaction time has no effect on your 1/4 mile ET.

Exactly. Improving your reaction time will only help you in competition. As for your 1/4 mile time, work on your launch (60 ft) and maybe get a dyno of the car so you can see where you are making the most power and adjust your shift points to suit.

Let me preface this by saying I know squat about MR2s...

I'm guessing the MR2 weighs ~2400 with you in it. At your trap speed, you're making ~146 whp. That ought to be good enough for ~14.8 times. It looks like you're losing 0.4 secs. That seems like a lot to be lost in the first 100 ft, which suggests you're also losing time on your shifts. This is a long winded way of saying you need to practice your launch and shave a couple tenths off your 60 and improve your shifts to shave the rest. That combination should be enough to shave 0.4 secs.

Seems to me like you ought to be making more than 146 whp with 14 lbs of boost. A stock 2000 (non turbo???) I found on the net ran 15.2 @ 88. I'd recommend some dyno time if you haven't done it to tune your combo.

at stock boost, it supposely run the 14.8, which is estimated at 160rwhp at 20% transmission loss

i noticed when i launch, usually at 3k, the car bounces, my friend said my wheels are probably bent to hell. and i am also trying to determine is the car running in safe mode from the bad fuel l had in there... i guess i won't be able to tell till i get all that fixed, thanks for the help

i guess my driving skill is largely at blame, i've only drove a stick for about 4 months so far

Sounds like basic wheel hop. That's cured by working on your suspension so you get better weight transfer to the rear tires on launch. My tires hopped and burned through second gear on my first race running high 13s. It now runs into the 11s with no a wheel spin or hop thanks to slicks and suspension work.

kind of an old thread but what the hell. lol

1) run less tires pressure then ou do on the street. you should drop it by at least 10psi. in the rear only of course.

2) with that car you should have consistent 1.9's easily. that alone can shave off .3 seconds. also every .1 you save on the 60' takes about .15 off the 1/4 that should get you in the 14.6 range. might wanna try slippin the clutch at 5500 rpms. I heard that works pretty good in the mr2.

3) check out www.mr2oc.com you'll find a lot better info on your mr2 there.
