almost lost to a celica

Riding around with my friend, we drew the attention of a celica gts doing some spirited driving. He kept trying to get us to race a few times, so finally we ended up at a light clear of traffic.

Deciding to give the celica a taste of what he wanted, we waited for the light to turn. The celica got a better launch, and got about a car length right away. The celica pulled a little bit in 1st gear. Through 2nd we started pulling but by 60 we still weren't ahead. Fortunately by the end of 3rd we had about 2 car lengths on him.

Good thing we were in my friends 03 accord, otherwise I might be a little embarassed at my driving skills.

this race was wednesday. wasn't raining up here in germantown.

on top of that, with the tires I have on my S2k, in the rain, I couldn't break the tires loose if I tried.

sure. a 14.4 car vs a 14.9 car? that's a fairly close race if you're just doing a stoplight race and not getting to a 1/4 mile. celicas aren't anything to scoff at by any means.

turbodiesel what do you drive? a TDi or something?? are you in the milwaukee area?

I am in New Berlin....used to run "Brew City Muscle" back when I had a Z28. I now have an F350 with the 7.3L turbodiesel. Not stock and a lot faster than most people would think
