btw, I read in Super Street that they tested the supercharged version, and by the numbers and figures there, my "lowly boosted auto" would be right up with it. Don't act like you know me, or what my car can do. I have more than just a basic bolt-on kit fella
And please, don't come on here acting all hard. The only reason I "put you in your place" was because you came on here acting like you had a 16 inch ****. I'm not entirely impressed with the scions. They've yet to prove their liability. I don't fully respect them yet because I don't really have a means to see what they can do. Unless you can predict the future, my stance is grounded.

please don't think your civic better than the tC. In all honesty, you just have to use a lil common sense.
2.4l DOHC > 1.7l SOHC
Mod for mod, the tC will make more power than your civic. I don't see why you're so bitter about it.

Here are the the numbers for the 05' SE-R Spec-V. This I would say is a good example of N/A high power output. Significantly more impressive IMO.
Standard Engine 2.5L I4 Standard Transmission 6 Speed Manual Cylinders 4 Horsepower 175@6000 RPM Torque 180@4000 RPM

My years growing up reading and hearing about cars have always involved "commuter" engines as you put it taking on stronger, performance oriented cars. That's the whole point!!!
Hence the ever so popular B16 and B18 engines. You can't deny that those engines modified became much faster than many cars on the road. Is it wrong to be happy about modifying a B18 to be faster than a stock Corvette? Now just take this in terms of the 7thgen civics.

And if they race each other and the Civic wins, do you still say that the Civic should have lost because it's an econo car. I know the D17 did not have as much potential as the B series, or maybe just not enough R&D yet. The point is that you can't deny that a person may have a faster car after modification, just because it's an econo. If the car beats a corvette (who said Z06) or RSX or whatever that was meant to be faster from the factory, I give props for the guy.
