Did anyone ever say anything about the tC being the "quickest thing under the sun"? Stock for stock, mod for mod, it sure is quicker than the 7thgen civic anyway.

Woop dee doo... you have a boosted automatic civic. I fail to see how your boosted 1.7l SOHC coupled with an AUTOMATIC tranny is impressive by any means. As far as i'm concerned, your ride is probably placed in the lower portion of the food chain of cars running boost.

I dont care what kinda car you drive, whether its an rsx or a tC. I guarantee you that my car would beat a tC with boost. Anyway, I dont really give a **** if you boost that thing or not. In a race right now, my car would destroy any of yours. And don't give me this **** that you have plans to a, b, c, whatever. I don't talk in the future. Until your car is running low 14's, come and have a talk with me.

By the way, I never recall saying that my boosted civic was at a top portion of a food chain. I know that the car sucks, but at least its quicker than a lot more of the cars out there. As with respect, I feel I deserve some being I made an automatic econo-car faster than an RSX Type S with my own hands.

btw, I read in Super Street that they tested the supercharged version, and by the numbers and figures there, my "lowly boosted auto" would be right up with it. Don't act like you know me, or what my car can do. I have more than just a basic bolt-on kit fella

And please, don't come on here acting all hard. The only reason I "put you in your place" was because you came on here acting like you had a 16 inch ****. I'm not entirely impressed with the scions. They've yet to prove their liability. I don't fully respect them yet because I don't really have a means to see what they can do. Unless you can predict the future, my stance is grounded.

I really didn't want to get into an argument with you, I just feel you disrespected me without proper grounds to do so. If you're from the Tri-state area, pm me and we'll settle this on the street.

"Join a tC forum?". I am a member of one. Just putting you in your place.
mm... everytime I see someone write about torque on a 4 cylinder, I almost always come back to this car, KA24DE 240SX. It was deemed a crap truck motor so no one really paid any attention. That was almost a decade ago. Now, in comparison to today's tech, obviously, it's not too good. But that car/engine was built a decade ago... hmm.....

Very impressive for an auto!

Do a manual swap ($800ish) and you should spank any supercharged/turbocharged scion IMO

tsk tsk...so many internet tough guys popping up on this thread. You guarantee that your car will "destroy" any car of mine. That's a pretty extravagant claim to be making. Especially when your car is an AUTOMATIC civic on the snail. Low 14s aren't anything impressive. It wouldn't take much at all to smoke that 1.7l SOHC AUTOMATIC car that you have. You shouldn't be talking so much if your car is only running 14s on boost. Now i'm putting you in your place.

please don't think your civic better than the tC. In all honesty, you just have to use a lil common sense.
2.4l DOHC > 1.7l SOHC
Mod for mod, the tC will make more power than your civic. I don't see why you're so bitter about it.

seriously, it's just like another member pointed out earlier in this thread. "There are so many sensitive members here"

not impressive for a boosted car though. Compared to almost every other turbo-ed car out there, his car is slow.

I know! Hence my point that he's pretty cocky to think his car is all that, when the truth is, most turboed cars out there will spank him.

I gotta agree with Rsxtc....

2.4L > 1.7L

Of course a boosted auto civic will kill a stock tC... But if that tC were SC, the Civic would get raped. The tC weighs more, but it would still beat a Civic regardless if by 1 car length blah blah blah... I forget which magazine, but they did a test on the tC and whp was around 140-150ish... A stock Civic EX is what, 110 whp???

I could understand why all 7th gen owners would be upset. You guys are just defending your ride which is cool by all means.

Here are the the numbers for the 05' SE-R Spec-V. This I would say is a good example of N/A high power output. Significantly more impressive IMO.

Standard Engine 2.5L I4 Standard Transmission 6 Speed Manual Cylinders 4 Horsepower 175@6000 RPM Torque 180@4000 RPM

This is ridiculous. Your ideology of a better car from the factory is always better than a lower car is bull. My years growing up reading and hearing about cars have always involved "commuter" engines as you put it taking on stronger, performance oriented cars. That's the whole point!!!

Hence the ever so popular B16 and B18 engines. You can't deny that those engines modified became much faster than many cars on the road. Is it wrong to be happy about modifying a B18 to be faster than a stock Corvette? Now just take this in terms of the 7thgen civics.

Firstly, there's a big difference between B-series engines and the d-series engine. Would you be so kind as to show me how you would go about building up a 7thgen civic with its 1.7l engine to outperform .... lets say.... a stock corvette z06?

Is it possible to build a D17 to outperform a stock RSX Type S? Yes. And if they race each other and the Civic wins, do you still say that the Civic should have lost because it's an econo car. I know the D17 did not have as much potential as the B series, or maybe just not enough R&D yet. The point is that you can't deny that a person may have a faster car after modification, just because it's an econo. If the car beats a corvette (who said Z06) or RSX or whatever that was meant to be faster from the factory, I give props for the guy.

This auto tc vs civic stick is a whole different matter though.

I doubt the D17 can hang with a Z06 rebuilt with hella amounts of boost, but i sure know how a 7thgen can beat a Z06: Boosted K-Power!
