Beefy chick in v6 rustang gets toasted by the vic.
I'm coming home from class and i get caught at a light. Some beefy chick is next to me in a v6 stang. Not even trying to race. Light turns green. She jumps on it and gets about a 1 1/2 car length on me. So I'm like
e biatch. First gear bogged down cause I was just taking off like normal. Once the rpms get up I start reelin her in. By the end of first im at her bumper. Second and Im cruisin by. Shift into third and she's three car lengths behind. I just shut down around 80. Didn't want to do it but the girl was asking for it.
The funny thing is I had an 03 auto v6 before my vic. The best I ever did with my stang was 16.2. So I think I made the right choice with honda. Faster, cheaper, and better gas mileage.

auto is definate for me, 5spd would be a drivers race. Like I said when I had my auto v6 (actually my wifes) the best i could do was a 16.2. Not a problem. A 5spd V6 is good for mid to high 15's. That would be a drivers race.

We can if it is auto, and I have come close to beating my friend in his manual v6 stang.

oh one more thing, she was more than likely not racing and she just takes off fast and hit the speed she was going to cruise at. Cause I am sorry but if she was really racing you and you were 1 and half cars behind when you started, it doesn't even matter if she was auto you would be staying about that far behind her. Then she hit her cruising speed and you blew past her. Man now thats a race.

she prolly had an auto which would be no problem. And I am very close to 15's. Just gotta get my launch down and a little more test and tune. Oh yeah my car only weighs 2250lbs. Put it on a diet, only 250lbs to go till i reach my target weight.

Ok est free weight reduction so far:
(bathroom scale so not 100% acurate)
Sp Tire 24lbs
Tire iron and wheel bolt 2lbs
Jack 3lbs
Center trunk carpet 1lbs
Cardboard? over Sp Tire 7lbs
Driver Side Back Seat 12lbs
Pass. Back seat 7lbs
Back seat bench 8lbs
Passenger Seat 35lbs
Center hinge trunk plastic 1lbs
Driver side trunk carpet 1lbs
Passenger side trunk carpet 1lbs
4 mud flaps 2lbs
Driver rear panel 5lbs
Driver rear pillar 1lbs
Passenger rear panel 5bs
Passenger rear pillar 1lbs
Side sills 2lbs
kick panels 1lbs
Front carpet 13lbs
Rear seat belts 7lbs
Entire rear deck inc. speakers 10lbs
That's about 149lbs so far.
Now 1 gallon of gas weighs 6.2 lbs. I try to keep a 1/4 tank when racing and never more than a half daily. So lets do worst case scenario. A civic has a 13 gallon tank.
13 x 6.2lbs =80.6lbs
Worst case 1/2 of 80lbs= 40lbs
So up to 189lbs.
Now I'm quite sure between my exhaust, header and intake they will add up to the 11 lbs needed over the stock components.
Oh then there is my wheel setup. 12.5lbs 17" forged Velox Pg5-s.
2.5lbs less per corner of unsprung weight.
Kyokugen lug nuts 1/4lb less per corner.
So 2.75 x 4= 11lbs of unsprung weight, which actually has a greater effect than sprung weight.
Things left to remove to reach target weight
.
Door panels and anything else not needed behind them 5-10lbs per side?
Stereo 5-10lbs?
Roof liner 5lbs?
Sound insulation 15-40lbs?
AC and components (Last thing, Hot as hell here!) 50-100lbs?
Center console 5lbs?
Stuff that's gonna cost
CF hood 5-10lbs?
CF trunk 5lbs?
CF Fenders 10lbs?
Racing seat 10-15lbs
Lexan rear windows 15-30lbs?
Lighter battery 10lbs?
Other stuff not thought of yet????
In the end somwhere between 2000 and 2100lbs
So there you have it.
Bolt ons and weght reduction for now. Then when I get the zex I'll have a very nice pwr to weight ratio.
Moral of the story. Everything adds up and makes a difference. So next time ya'll wanna flame me. Zip it! Anything is possible when it comes to racing just as it is in everything else.

Well just cause he'll smoke you doesn't mean he'll smoke me or anyone else. Last saturday night 1320racing beat a 7thgen Si by three car lengths. So I guess the guy in the SI, who agreed to race him, wasn't racing either? Maybe this chick had a manual and couldn't drive. I don't know. That's just the way things went down. And again my previous car was an auto v6 stang. It wasn't fast and neither is my civic for that matter, but I know for a fact my civic is faster then an auto v6.
I give up. Some of you people are so narrow minded and assume that everyone out there can drive their car like a pro. Well they can't and neither can I, but i must be doing something right.

^^Your f'n crazy thier is nooooooooooo way a 7thgen civic can beat a 7thgen SI. You are nothing but a lier. He prob didnt know how to race or he was just playing with ya. People should realize that our civics are slow and they are worthless to mod. Keep wasting your money on your POS cars. Go buy something fast. Damn Losers.

look at these timeslips of v6 mustangs, ranging from vic-slow to decently fast

I could see you hanging with a chubby girl in an Auto V6 with a lightweight manual civic, however, assuming decent driver's, you've still got a ways to go to consistantly hang with 5-speeds. I ran a 15.5@90 virtually stock and that was with a crappy 2.3 60'. The car is probably good for 15.3's or better stock. But anyway, anyone who tries a sneak-attack like that girl did deserves to be owned anyway. BTW, if you want to see some really nice times, v6power.net is the place to go. There are a handful of guys in the 11's with turbo, daily-driver, full interior V6 Mustangs. At least one of them was even running a factory stock block and internals at the time.

Well I'm glad to see some people on here actually know what they are talking about (Blaine, Modoman), unlike certain Nissan owners, who have nothing better to do but come on a Honda site and run their mouth about which they havn't a clue.

And yes assuming decent drivers a 5spd V6 should win but it is certainly in the realm of possibilty for the civic to win if the V6 driver isn't up to par, which is why I said a 5spd would be a drivers race for me.
