those 02 Si suck i had one for two months, there were 7000 miles on the odo and the Bia blew on me racing a IS300 (that i was beating by the way) That IVTEC is for the birds so i traded it for my baby, an 02 civic LX NON VTEC(w/n2o) and it blows it out of the water

Rep Power: 0 Older Si's and Acura's seem to lose to the 7thGen a lot. I havent lost many times to older Acuras or Civics, but I am not Mr. Ricky Roadracer either. I dont race much, but I can definately shift better than a lot of drivers. Just practice every launch for a month or two, and you'll whoop on people you wouldnt have before.
my friend has a 04 si stock and mine had only intake, i kept up un until like half of third gear and then he started to pull up slowly i felt proud that we can keep with the si at least until 3rd

Hate to say it without reading all the post but no, ex civics arent in the same catagory as Si's I've had both, and baring some major issue with my 01 Ex, it was quite a bit slower than my 02 Si.....

Rep Power: 0 Ivetc in the Si may suck, but i seriously doubt a standard civic keeping up, Sorry the Si has more power, and better gearing ( though the quality of the tranny can be questioned) and mod for mod even the Si and its garbage vtec responds well to it mods =P
well I guess i just happen to run up against alot of Si's that just can't drive because I have yet to loose to an si(well slightly modded si.)I always seem to pull ahead when it comes to the shift.

the new si's suck.. i've taken 4 already and i only have bolt ons w/ my apexi....the only si that has beat be is my buddies 00 coupe body style si.. ( the cool ones) i'll be neck and neck w/ him threw 1st and 2nd but once 3rd hits .....im done for

Rep Power: 0 yeah I beat an 04 SI last night(again, wanted a rematch) twice from a dig by at least two cars. I finally got my launch down, just chirped once and I was gone. He on the other hand was spinning pretty bad.
I'm supposed to race a 6th gen SI next week. He beat the 04 by about the same margin I did, so it should be close.

could be just me tho, i guess the 01 driver would have to be very good, especially at the launch. the two i beat talked ****......until we raced. both were beat on the street and the 00 again at the track. 
I've gone up against 4 00si I/E,2 03' Si's
and I have yet to loose. This has always been from a dig though. So Im not saying that our d17 are faster than a Si but I only have Intake,Exhaust, Gutted cat, Short shifter and a Gutted interior when i race. But I can say that from my first hand experience
D17 modded w/Good driver > B16 or K20 Si w/average driver.

from a dig we(a good driver) can out launch and out shift them making it possible to defeat an average SI driver.
