well, i havent been able to use my civic lately since the damn timing belt snapped 2 weeks ago. it is has been just sitting in the garage rotting away. so i get into my dad's hummer and take it for a test drive and to the 1/8 mile dragstrip w/o his permission . WoW, its faster than my 01 civic and yet it weighs like 7000 lbs. i ran a 10 flat at 70 mph last week. i managed to pull constant 2.1 60s and get an average of 9.9-10.3@69-72 mph. yes cant beat awd cuz my best 60' was a 2.0 . that time is as fast as an ls integra (manual). but anyways, there is this kid driving like a maniac and cutting people off and whatnot after he was racing on the track for a lil bit. it happened to be a 2000+ eclipse rs with a nice, agressive bodykit and a loud muffler. he was constantly running 11s and 12s in the 8th mile @ 65 mph so i felt kinda good for myself. i wasnt doing too bad since i was beating older civics left here and right here, except for the modified imports and the race fuel draggies. i think he was probably mad for not getting a 10 sec pass like i did. i think i know this kid, kinda because he goes to my school. and he talks trash about civics and brags that no civic yet beat his eclipse. yeah, wow 2.4L sohc 140 hp with a curb weight of 3300 lbs. so then when he sees me and talks **** about domestics. (yes i also have a side for domestics as i am not a hater) in fact, i think he has never raced before since he really has to work on his launch and quit getting 2.5 60' times. but i think thats normal for a fwd car with a curb weight of that much.
i call it a night from the track and so i happened to be inline with him in the traffic light. i scan carefully making sure no cop is around. so there he goes, revving and looking at me since the last car which was a civic, actually didnt wanna race him. so i race him and show him up. this was the first time i used my dads hummer in a race. wow it was fun. as he prepares to launch off the line, he roasts his tires a little. hell i dont need to because of awd. the light turns yellow on the other side and he practices launching again. terrible!! it sounded like a laugh. as soon at the light turned green on my side, he instantly got on the pedal and it seemed like he dropped it at 4000 making the launch ok. 1/4 a sec later, i launch and i get up on side by side with him and by the time i hit 40 mph, i was walking slowly passing him. at 75, i was already clearly past him and i shot on my blinkers. this didnt make him give up. after 90, he is still going and at 105 i shut down and it is clearly decided i won and he passed me doing a ricer flyby and suddenly i see blue lights at my tail. it looked like the cop was after me when i pulled over and he passed me, finally getting that eclipse. wow. that was a terrible night for that kid. too bad i wasnt caught. but anyways sux for him. next time i see him, i'll be like, "Get a new car buddy!"

cliffs:

racing my dads hummer at the track. running 10's in the 1/8th all night, eclipse running 11s and 12s. kid raced out of the track after its time to leave. met up with him in stoplight. gets stomped by the hummer. then cop goes after him for speeding. that sucker was PWN3D!!

sounds fun. h2 arent cop magnets but an eclipse with a kit and muffler is. thats probably why the cop went after him. OR because he drove 105mph after the race was over. either way, i never knew an h2 can out perfom the civics/integras/eclipse classes

when u go back to school, ask him how much was the ticket

H2.... I thought that thing does 0-60 in like... 9 seconds.... I never looked up the stats though. Are you sure it was "too bad I wasnt caught"?????????

there are some sites that tell you the 0-60 is about 8-9 sec depending on how you launch it. yes i wasnt caught by the popo this time. to launch the hummer, you have to torque brake and off the line it will launch nicely and will give you a 0-60 time of roughly 8-9 seconds.
