7th Gen Vs 6th Gen
Alright Im In The Navy And I Got A 02 Ex Coupe. Theres This Guy In My Squadron Who Is The Cockiest Person Ive Ever Met. He Has A 2000 Honda Civic Dx. Now This Is A D17a2 Vs A D16a7. He Thinks His Car Is The Fastest Civic Around The Area Which Is Fresno Ca. Well He Wanted To Race Me For Fun With All His Friends Watching So He Could Prove To Them That He Is The Fastest And Best Driver Around. So Naturally I Took The Challenge. We Were Going To Race From A Dead Stop Until The Winner Was At Least Two Car Lengths Ahead. We Lined Up And His Friend Was Going To Launch Us. I Brought My Rpms Up To About 3000 And Launched The Car. Right From The Start I Was A Car Length Ahead Of Him And When I Put It In Second Gear I Pulled To About Three Cars So I Won The Race Before I Put The Car In Third.
So What Happens Next, He Says That I Jumped Before The Start So I Tell Him Well Go Again But For Some Money 200$. But This Time I Give Him 1 1/2 Car Lenghts Head Start And The Jump. This Time I Beat Him By 2 Cars In Third Gear.
This Is Proof That No Other Civic Ex And Below Can Hang With Us 7th Gens.
So What Happens Next, He Says That I Jumped Before The Start So I Tell Him Well Go Again But For Some Money 200$. But This Time I Give Him 1 1/2 Car Lenghts Head Start And The Jump. This Time I Beat Him By 2 Cars In Third Gear.

I ran with a buddy (el-type-r on this site), he has a D16Y8 auto vs my D17A2 5-speed. Just a little keep-up-if-you-can....damn if I didn't have to almost redline every gear to keep up! Then again all i had was an axle-back and CAI (Which probably hurt me more than it helped) to his CAI, catback, and I THINK he has a header.

Rep Power: 811 Actually the 6th gen is faster with mods. I raced my friend's ex with cvt auto with my auto 7thgen and got beaten bad. It's not really a drivers race with an auto, since you just floor it anyway. Our cars have way more restrictions due to better emissions. That's another thing to compare.

Rep Power: 0 I beat the hell out of some dude with a 97 EX with a skunk2 cam, cam gear, I/H/E with 2.25'' and no cat, and a grounding kit. I have even beaten 2 Si's. One was stock and the other had I/E.

Rep Power: 0 they do have a lot of mods out for the 6th gens, but for some of them i dont really think they will do a whole lot on some of them. like the dx. lx, ex, si i feel that the mods will do a lot and it would be a nice race with a 7th gen
