Me (stock EX) vs. C240
A group of my friends and I were eating up as much food as we could possibly contain at the local souplantation when the topic of cars came up. My friend, who has a C240 with 18" Brabus Monoblock V rims and other exterior mods, was wondering how fast my car can go. In an attempt to compare my car to his, I guessed that he would win. Anyhow, the two of us left together and the fun began...
First of all, my friend's car is pretty aggressive looking for a Benz-- black grill with HID bulbs and a nice drop on 18s. Anyhow, he pulled up next to me as we were going about 25 mph (from a light); I was in 2nd at the time. He took off, and his front bumper caught my fender (he started behind me). Surprisingly, I held him off and kept pulling and pulling...
We caught the light and he decided to floor it this time (Mercs have a "kickdown" switch that unleashes all the engine's got). Being a stick car, I had the launch advantage. Going into second, I chirped, allthewhile, he was trying to catch up. We shut down at about 80ish (I had a two car lead), as a red light was coming up. Lucky us... a cop was waiting at that light to turn into our street
.
My friend was surprised, not to mention myself. 2.6 liter V6 couldn't take my baby
. My friend even liked my little chirp
. Boy, do I feel proud [maybe I shouldn't be...

]. It was a early 90's Benz right?? My Mom had the Kompresser model in hers (4cyl Supercharged) and from what I remember from driving it it would kick the sh*t outta our civics. I don't know if the 2.6 V6 was faster than the Kompresser though. What mods do you have to pull out a win agains this Benz because I find it hard to believe.

I'm not BSing, guys, but I do understand your concern. I have no mods, whatsoever. He has 18" Brabus rims, contributing to the weight of his 2002 C class. He always complained about his zero to 60, too, so he kinda figured my car would outrun his from a stop.
As far as the Kompresser goes, I think it would kill a lot of cars, so I would lose to that. My mom has a C240 just like my friends, and it's not all that quick, either.
By the way, I have no reason to make this stuff up... I wouldn't want a bunch of people that believe my "fairytale" going out trying to race all the moms and grandpas in C classes.

Yeah, I know what you mean man. I didn't know that it was a 2002 also. Those seem to look bigger but I guess they have about the same engines as the older BENZ. Also he had 18'' rims, from which I am guessing are huge Chrome rims. Can't be good for racing.
Anyways, Congrats on the kill!

im not suprised by that.. the C240 is a 2.6L v6 with 168hp and 177lb ft. and 0-60 in 8.7sec.. easily beaten by a 5sp civic driven right
Manuel or auto Benz. Carstats has the manuel 2001 clocked at 16.7 in the 1/4...if its auto it should be low-mid 17's easy. Manuel EX runs like mid-high 16's too i think...and i'm sure you had a few 100lb weight advantage. Nice kill though man, always nice beating a more expensive car
Man that really sucks for a v6, 2.6lit...only 168hp...but i guess they're all show, no go

It was an auto Benz, being that a manual one would have to be ordered from Germany.
Anyways, I wonder how the C class would have done against me had it been in tiptronic mode...

Nice kill!!!
According to Benz US website: MSRP: $33,370.00
I'd feel pretty bad after paying that much money and getting held off by any Civic.
Of course, if he wanted to go faster'n everyone he'd have got a STi or an EVO instead... If he likes muscle and rear-wheel-drive, there's always the BMW 330i fof about the same coin. If he didn't mind US cars, there's the GTO.
IMO he made a bad purchase.
Ah well, just proof that going fast isn't much a consideration on some folks minds.
