Hold up.... It is entirly possible to make a pony car handle well. It does take time and effort (much as it takes a lot of time and effort to make a Civic in to a drag car) but it can be done.
the bigger issue lies with the driver, as with out any formal traing or track experiance the driver will be the part that makes the car handle poorly. and I dont mean to get any one down, but driving hard on the street does not mean that you know what you are doing. At this point in my racing (SCCA Solo 2 and Pro Solo, National and local events) No matter how hard I try to push it on the street, its no where near how hard I can push it on a track. The traction Just doesnt exzist. And driving hard on the street has actually gotten booring.... Its not thrilling any more because I know what Me and my car are capable of but I can't use it on the street.
