So I was in my dads vette today and we descide to stop by the local Lotus dealer which is pretty freaking amazing considering we even have one. To make a story short we went in looking at the cars and my dad has a 03 corvette moonlight grey with performance rear axle Cosair exhuast and the twin air intake by I dont know who but its got dual K&N cones. Anyways him and the dealer start talking about how fast cars are and such, my dad went off how he thought a lotus wouldnt be much faster...
sorry to interupt note this it takes about 12+ months to sell a lotus and you can get them for about 70 grand or 65
Anyways to continue on after his debate we leave etc etc and sure enough pulling out of the driveway of the dealer is a yellow esprit V8. We end up trailing the guy who had dealer plates I might add to the stoplight at westlake blvd. of course we pull up next to him and start looking when we hear something sounds like a damn formula one car starting up shaking the very fringes of our car..... Of course my dad isnt going to back down being thick headed vette owner, so ya we bark back at this car car.. this goes on about 20 secounds felt like 5 minutes.
When the light hits green the damn guy in the lotus must smoked those tires. We beat him off the line and through the intersection, but all we could hear is this f1 car noise screeming over our american v8!.
I go to look back thinking we owned that poor bastard when I see a yellow blur fling up to our side, we had to be at its shift point by the next intersection mind you this isnt even 8th mile yet, so I say about 65 and he shift just pulling from us...About this time I manage to look at the speedo and realize we were going 127 mph, probally at the qaurter now. The lotus trully began to pull away but it was a steady pull I guess lol considering I was hanging on for dear life. Guess that hit my dad too becuase we just slowled down as the guy just left us in the distance.

its alright the lotus is last year production and the c6 will kick its ***!!!! for lesss price!

Speed is 1 thing, but having a Lotus makes a person exclusive.... which is good and bad.....

Plus the lotus will dominate in the twisties... But i would rather have a growl than a scream comin from my engine... thats just preference though

Funny thing is that the Esprit has been passed up by the Elise as Lotuses premier Race car. even though the Elise is a 4 cylinder with no turbo.....

Was it the v8TT? Those are fast. I guy around where I live owns one. Those are damn nice. I wouldnt mide driving/owning one. Damn the insurance.

yes it was a v8tt thats all they make now.. I also learned from the dealer incase you were wondering the reason the Esprit was killed becuase the gearbox they used was from a Reno which they dont make anymore. Lotus literly had run out of gearbox's and it would cost to much compared to what they sell to make there own for the car.

Yeah, everyone should go d/l the Elise clip somewhere on this site.... sorry dont remember where.... The current Elise is definately my type of car haha
