Race this...absolutley NUTS...
Allright, firstoff, the cajun never claimed to have a Z06. Nowhere in any of his posts did he say "my Z06." He did say "my vette," which is correct. Second, your power to weight ratio means jack ****. So your little mini has a 6lb ratio compared to the vettes 8. He's still going to smoke your mini.

Now I did see that dude cheesefrog beat a viper on video. That was funny as hell, he is cool! Guys I am not saying it cant happen. There are many things that I didnt think was true until I was proven wrong by seeing it. I just would have to see it to believe it. Also I know That cheesefrog was probably spraying when he beat that Viper. Give me a 50-100 shot on the vette, hell on the S2000 for that matter and who knows what kind of crazy stuff could happen! NO2 only costs $600-$750 but I am not willing to take that kind of chance with any of my cars.

A cars speed, through a straight line, is all about power to weight. a car with a better power to weight ratio will win, unless the driver sucks of course.
Yeah, ok I'll admit I was wrong. But im not gonna give up that easily. Yes power to weight will always win, in theory. Taking other things into account however- Aerodynamic drag, traction, drivetrain losses- will change the story completly.

Damn I missed the fireworks.
Anyway you hit it on the head there man drag, traction, drivetrain, rear wheel drive as opposed to front, weight distribution of the vehicle.

traction, well both will have problems without slicks, the vette may have a tad more do to there being less weight by the drive wheels. but as we know FWD sucks for drag racing so..
The power to weight raito's i calculated accounted for WHP so drivetrain loss is out of it.
I'd love to see a video of the two cars racing, it'd be a site.

Me too, but I am a corvette man first and foremost so I would have to pull for the vette. Then again the corvette probably does cost at least twice as much.........................but then again no matter what the corvette is a corvette and the mini will always be a mini..........which would you rather drive?

dam this thread is old.. lol
whoever said why compare a 15 year old car to modern one... to show what muscle power is about.
muscle power is great, but i rather stick with new cars cause i dont want to spend money purchasing parts for my car. and its hard to find parts for ur 1977 car.
