What the H*ll....I'm slower now?
I have added a DC Sports header, cat back exhaust, and an Injen RD CAI and I am slower 0-60 than I was before. I have done several runs in the last two days with an average of 10.89 sec. What happened? I do have 17" focal wheels with 215/40 rubber. That might be part of the problem.
Car: 01 Sedan EX, Auto
Top end of the powerband the car is "quicker" but the low end seems much slower.
Any thoughts? I NEED HELP!

Did you just get the 17's? If you did, lose them. Get a light set of 15's. You'd be supprised as to how much Large rims slow down acceleration and breaking and cornering ect ect ect ........
futurersxswap,
Who makes a good header? (The import shop that I got it from said it was a "Good" one.) Hah, I got taken!
Zzyzx,
I have had the 17s for about a year. I have had no need to 0-60 myself until recently. (There is a PUNK kid in my neighborhood that wants to race me in his Saturn SL2 sedan. I am afraid that my civic is slower than it should be. I AM NOT LOSING TO A SATURN!!!) I also have a set of 16" wheels with 215/40 series rubber and 15" wheels with 215/50 series rubber. I will try one of the other sets.

I have a 01 EX sedan auto
0-60 is pretty damn slow with all stock parts. Once I get some ricer parts I'll let you all know how "quick" it is.
Have you added any audio equipment? Something along the lines of a 100lbs subwoofer X 2 could slow you down significantly...

You're slower because the powerband has been shifted up higher in to the rpms. In a manual you can compensate for this through the clutch and after 1st it doesn't matter. You can't do this with an auto.

Oh, and go back to the 15" wheels. 17" wheels kill acceleration unless you have some lightweight forged ones or something...
It's so funny to see the ricers with the big bling-bling wheels thinking they are fast or something...In reality, the 5hp they got from their bolt-ons is negated by their power sucking, bling-bling wheels...ROFL
