Me vs. Odyssey (wtf?)

hah ... I know what you're thinkin ... any civic would own an odyssey... wrong.

I was driving with my gf to a mini meet that was supposed to happen tonight at the Irvine Spectrum ... if anyone knows where that is. However, no one ended up showing up. Anyway ...

yeah, I was on my way and this Odyssey keeps on flooring it red light after red light ... so I just thought I'd have some fun ...

Ok, so we are stopped at a red light and I didn't know if he was gonna race or whatever ... cuz I was thinkin ... a minivan? what an easy kill.

He floors it and I didn't launch ... or even think about it... I kinda just put it to half-throttle up to about 3500 rpms ... when ... wtf ... he's beating me! I then punch it and we're dead even until about 5500 rpms in 2nd gear ... I'm thinkin ... wtf, this guy is fast. So I eventually hit 3rd and beat him by about 1.5-2 car lengths ... then shut down at about 75 ...

hmm ... I didn't think Odyssey's were quick ... I end up lookin online and notice that the 1/4 mile for an Odyssey is 16.1 sec ... huh ... well now I know not to underestimate those things anymore haha

My fam has an Oddyssey, and it's got torque! Yes, it's heavy but it's got plenty of power to push that thing. 3.5L VTEC baby lol

I believe motor trend tested a few minivans and the oddyssey took them all. That's a badass family vehicle. Those soccer moms must really love it.

Sounds like someone needs to try and swap in an Odyssey engine into a civic! However I find it hard to believe that thing does 0-60 in 7.5.... I'd have to see that.

Yea, the newer odysseys have 240hp mated to a 5spd auto whereas the 01 and below have 200hp mated to a 4spd auto.

I can't remember if 02 or 03 was the first year of the 240hp.....

The wife wants one so I know a little about them.

They are awesome minivans and hold their value like precious gems.
