Oh Yeah! I'm getting there. I took 3rd in the Indy Region event at Grissom
ARB today. It wasn't the greatest driving I've ever done, IMO, but I guess I
drove pretty damn well.
A head of me was a GTi VR6 and an Integra, behind me was a 240SX, and another
Integra (both 2 driver), so I beat 4 other guys in capable cars. JnyCash came
with me and ran HS, I don't know how exactly he fared, but I feel his pain for
having to run on stock Firestones.
This is my first "Podium"... hopefully one of many.
My car is still on pretty hard (in comparison) street tires (AVS ES100s, 280AA)
and I still have stock shocks and springs... So hopefully, theres some more
improvement on the car side of things.

congrats on the third. i got 1 of 2 in HS today at converse. i beat a focus ZX3 by about 3 seconds. my best of 5 runs was a 70.12. im rolling the stock suspension, no mods whatsoever, and stock size Fisk Classic tires. that sucked, i tried to turn, but all i got was straight. im still learing though, that was my fist ever autoX, im hooked.
Yeah, I got owned pretty hard today, last out of 4 in HS...
Oh well, I'm still learning and I have to admit those stock Firestones are a trip to drive on. Nothing quite like sliding around every corner.
Oh well, still a hell of a good time, I'm definetly going back for more. If my limited college budget opens up, there might be some new tires in my future...
At least I didn't come in dead last overall.

Good Job!! What class were you running in? A GTi VR6 isn't the best handling car becuase it is really heavy up front, but alot of peeps autocross them ... you should be able to out handle one, but if you are in a stock class, then it will easily out power you. I'm guessing that is what happened ... you'll get 1st next time ...

Congrats, 3rd is pretty good. Thats what place I got last night here in Las Vegas.
Suprisingly our cars are pretty well balanced, and Regionally can do Very well in classes like HS and STS.
Once you get some compeditve tires, and modifiy you suspension you should be all over those other cars.
Personaly I'm thingking of getting KW type IIIs. Adjustible compression and rebound is just so appealing.

A good set of tires will drop probably about a second or two, I konw I droped about a second when I got my Falkens.
Springs and Shocks will help a whole lot too, and adding a bit more Front camber ect ect ect ect............ Untill the car is maxed out to the limit of the rules........

Awesome job man, good work!!!!
How do you like the Yoko ES100s from a street perspective? I know they're not the best for auto-x, but I am considering them since ANYTHING is better than our OEM Firerocks.

i've got the ES100's in 225/40/18's ... they are pretty good and way stickier than most stock tires. I went on a mountain run a week or so ago and they did great. I'd recommend them, especially for the price
