i dont know how the hell he did. all his *** says that its top secret. i offered him a run in my 7thgen and LOST eta 16.77 on regular tires!! however, i killed him in my crx with a 14.16 on 50 shot nitrous and hoosier tires (13x8 rims with 235/45/13) that i purchased on tirerack.com today. 15.11 on regular tires and no nitrous. yay i finally broke 14s. but not on my 7thgen... yet

Rep Power: 0 ha ha funny you should mentin Pinto I was so gonna post that just now. lol I got my A$$ handed to me by a pinto. I was at irwindale (an 1/8 track) he came up and was like wanna race. I was like what car he said pinto and it was all beat up and primered black. lol I figured he musta had something. but I said ok. he finished that damn 1/8 by the time I hit the 330' mark. I pulled 9.91 and he pulled like 6.3 at 120+ mph I was like WTF. lol so the announcers ragged on me all night bout losing to a pinto!

Rep Power: 324 belive it or not the pinto engine has a good amount of aftermarket support for parts. they are used or used to be used alot in off road buggys.

its not about how fast you go or what car you in.....its how you overcome the odds.....hell if you could get a lawn mower to run 18's i'd be impressed cause its not SUPPOSED to be that fast. A geo isnt SUPPOSED to be that fast....give the guy props

Even if it's just vinyl sponsor stickers. you can't just "take a lawnmower and make it run 18's" I think you should balance some kinda looks in. Even the pinto had a solid body with a nice primer job lol on it. Anyways he said he couldnt show off the engine that day cause they had sponsored protype parts in there so I couldnt get pics. Guys is full pro though. It looked blown to me and wasnt a stock motor duh!. lol it was quite terrifying watching it win when I had barely got 2nd goin lol was fun to watch though. he pulled the same trick on a way fixed up M3 that had been runnin mid 7's he was like I think I might keep up and then beat him by a full second lol

i understand not personally wanting to have a car that has no looks and all go like that....but what he was doing with his geo is alot what some people on here do to there civics. They're called sleepers. I lost to a modified fesitva that looked like it was gunna fall apart. Trust me it was way worse loosing to it by a second than to another civic by 2 seconds. Besides...i'm sure they guy doesnt use it has a road car...just to screw around and make a few people say ....WTF!!!! And i would hope he wouldnt try to pick up in it...thats when you want some show

Plus, those kind of people just love the look on the face of someone with a $30,000 sports car that just lost to a sleeper.

Rep Power: 0 I will be mad that I lost...then look at the pinto..then look at my z-28..then the pinto..then the z28...and get a big grin and just hop back into my car...and know that I dont give a **** how fast that thing is...my car is always gonna look 100% better...and laught that most people will want to flaunt an ugly *** car regardless if its running 10's or 17's

Give credit where credit is deserved is what i always say. If its fast i'll give you props no matter if its a shopping cart running 19s or a vette running 11s. But i must say i have much more respect for a 12 second civic than a 12 second camaro. Simply cause the civic guy shaved 4-5 seconds off a stocck civic where as the camaro guy shaved off 1-2 sconds.
BTW funny that it was mentioned but me and a few friends are in the process of building a V8 pinto. We already have an engine (302 fairly modded) and transmission we got for 50 bucks we knew a guy that had it just lying around and we asked his price he said $100 then he asked whats it going in, we said a pinto hes like THATS AWSOME $50 bucks. Now we just need a body to stick it in. The only problem is the suspension is specifically built for a 4 cylinder and NHRA won't let you run a V8 pinto with stock suspension.
Also the reason why you make a geo metro run 15s is cause its fun as hell. Its called a sleeper. A car that not many people know much about, is ugly and usually slow in stock form. My mazda for example is a sleeper. Only 1200 were imported into the US so its not like you see many around. It looks like your average late 80's hatchback. No flashy bodykit, no 18 inch rims. No custom paint job. no stickers, no xeons or HIDs. Just some slow looking hatchback with stock 15 inch rims and a faded paint job that runs low 14's and now could run a high 13. The best part about having a sleeper is racing one race i was in was a 7th gen EX coupe with I/E and a 50 shot. We lined up he looks over and laughs at my car thinking hes gonna destroy me. Well he wasn't laughing when i put 2 cars lengths on him before he left off around 75. He gave a thumbs up and drove off. Its something that can't be described in words. Their eagerness to race, then the smile on their face before the race, then the size of their eyes when you start pulling. Another plus is that a sleeper doesn't draw much attention from cops.

Rep Power: 343 yea im also saving up for a larger turbo VJ-17. The engine is over engineered so i don't have to worry about that but the AWD tranny is some poo, ive heard that around 300 hp, the engine has no problem shredding your gears.
