so last night (wed) im out crusin w.some buddy's of mine. couple race stories for ya:

first, at a stoplight, this riced to hell and back saturn (yes...laugh hard please) pulls up next to me (stock 02 si) and my friend mark, who drives a slightly modded late 90's civic coupe. the saturn is a massive thug guy whose giving us the eye...so we took off and he tried to follow, but failed miserably. we pulled into a grocery store to meet soem friends and thugs-r-us follows us, but sees all our friends and takes off. not really racing, but sets the mood for the fact that there were so many ricers on the street last night.

mark and i keep driving and end up next to eachother at a stop light. his radar detector is clear, so we go for it. i get a horrible launch, but so does he...and i pulled ahead of him (obviously...he's sportin SOHC 125hp) and stay ahead of him for the duration of the road. good times, yes...

lastly...we're cruisin on the highway and this guy in an eagle talon is drivin fast...so im following...going where he goes...then i punch it and pass him. he stays back pretty far, which pisses me off cuz i wanted him to get up next to me so we could go...so i slow down mass so he can catch up. what does he do? he slams on it and flys by me...so i downshift and take off down the road. by the time i see our speeds match, we're already doing 105, and i misshifted in the process, so he was way ahead. he slowed to exit....i passed and waved and all was well.

and lastly, which proves you shouldnt race every chance you get, i was on my way home and a mustang, yes a mustang ladies and gentlemen pulls next to me driving down the road. he's matched my speed and just chillin there. i think it was the v6 mustang, and usually i'd go for it just for the hell of it, but this time i said that i had done too much that night, so i'd lay off. he takes off and flys down the road...guess who gets pulled over? our friend the mustang....

so im bored at work and felt like sharing...

That is sooooo true. We kinda do the same thing but we call it "Ricer Hunting". See around here they have a pattern. They goto one spot (either tacobell, target or the exxon all of which are in plain sight of open roads, you'd think theyd get smart and go somewhere like a back alley so every cop driving by won't see what there doing) they stay at that one spot a start up a car show then the cops come break it up so they move to another place. Well we were waiting in the parking lot across the street form tacobell for them to leave. After a couple minutes they leave a we are in pursuit, we notice a good amount of tire smoke in the taco bell parking lot. They have the lead on me so im kinda speeding to catch up. But my friend/navigator says "Don't speed, I don't know where the cops are on these roads". So i take his advice and slow it down, right as he finished that sentence 4 cops pull out in front of me and 1 behind me (they were just chillin behind the strip mall next to the tacobell, little did the ricers know there were 5 cops less than 100 yards away from there show the whole time.) All the cops flip on there lights and speed past me, they manage to pull over about 1/3 of the people at that car show

haha. sweet story man. yeah all the ricers collect to a few spots on our main "strip" and get broken up all the time. my friends and i have our spots to chill, but we have a max or 5 to 6 cars...these ricers get 20 - 30 of them at once!! i mean come on...talk about asking for it?

once a week, a website called cincinnati street racing would host cruise in's...they would get upwards to 1000 cars in one lot (at the local dave and buster's). alot of rice there...but some real sweet cars...some laberghinis (spelling), a ferrari or two, and even a skyline. but...it got too big, so D&B reported it to the cops and had it broken up. this was last summer, and they've tried to reinstate the cruise in's, but i dont think they'll ever be as big as they were. oh well...
