Rep Power: 0 Official Si vs Sir (Ex vs Si for US) on the 1/4 mile
Hi, please don't BS **** this thread because I don't care if you think this is BS but here it goes.
I have a 2002 Civic Si Veloz and my friend has a 2002 Sir. Translation:
I have a US 2002 EX Coupe and my friend has a 2002 Si.
we both have AEM CAI so itès 127 vs 160.
We finally went at the friday night street races at the Sanair Dragway in quebec. There is no time slips, it's just continuous drag races. with a start light and a light at the end telling who won.
We raced twice and we both had a passenger and we even switch passenger for the 2nd race. So the first race we launch and we were pretty even but he got maybe 1 meter in front of me for the whole race and he won. I launched at around 5000-5500 and he told me he launched at around 2300 because he is spinning too much. We are both on stock mags and tires. So he is really disapointed in his car
2nd race. I have a really better launch and I have almost 1-and a half to 2 car lenght in front of him. He was really thinking he was going to loose the 2nd race, but he finally caught me in his 3 and 4th gear because he has the go in fourth, because his 3rd stops at 120. I think I stayed in 3rd, because mine goes to 140 but i can't remember if I went into 4th. He finaly won by about 2 or 3 feet. We really enjoyed our race. We discussed with other honda lovers who saw the race and we all agreed that the 7th gen SIR sucked.
I also beaten a 7th gen lx or dx by about 2 or 3 car. I lost to a 2002 4cyl. tiburon that had i/h/e by about 4 car. So i/h/e really does help.
take care.

Rep Power: 0 There is also the difference of the close ratio gear box of the Sir that gives it even more advantage over the si. Imagine the SIR without it, it would really suck compare to the si

Correction to the story.
The SiR doesn't suck and taking into account that after the second race, I had a bad launch and seeing him 2 cars ahead of me when I shifted in 3, I was very pleased to win the race in the end.
