Wink Me Vs. Silverado.

I left my house last night to pick up some food and as I approached the first corner I had to turn at with the light turning yellow and took it like an F1 race car. Still accelerating takin another turn and goin straight a few blocks cruisin in geriatric apartment territory - I noticed I got the attention of one of the vehicles behind me and was tryin to catch up with me. Alright, I suspect that this could be interesting. So shortly after passin 2 blocks I see a yellow light ahead but this time I hit the brakes and stopped on a dime now that I got these new sick *** tires (despite the fact they're not made for drag but they stick MAD TYTE y0!) I felt like it would be a nice time to see how well they do launching if I were to drag. So this f00 comes up and he's in a truck! Chevy Silverado to be exact. Dude had tinted windows on some chrome dubs and by the time his *** lined up to the left of me (I'm in da center lane), I had my **** already in first gear with engine already set for a 4,000 RPM launch. Light turns green and I get the jump on that ***. After ridin the clutch nice n hard to the point where the headlights were about to crack, the gears caught at 4,500 and he just witnessed a 7th gen put the BUSLENGTHS on that ***! 2nd gear - stiiiiill pullin as he can't even catch up with me now. He has to change lanes to get behind me cuz some *** was in his lane but for why? 3rd gear, it's over. I had already put zip codes on that POShit.

I won by 3 car lengths.

/sigh...obligatory question: "How do you know he was racing you?"

Gotta love these kill stories where the other car is not one that would normally be racing, especially a truck. Good story and all...but it is pretty worthless if the guy wasn't racing or he pulled up and you start revving and he just sits there. Now if he chased you and caught up at the next light and revv'd...then you have a race. Also not saying you can't beat a Silverado...I don't really want to spend the time looking at power/weight ratios on a Chevy, much less their gearing. I just wish people would put more evidence that a race was understood between both parties.

Like the other morning heading home from work...I got my butt smoked by a TSX. (damn those things are quick). He passed me in traffic, got to the next light, both revv'd and launched off the line. Knew I was outta my class immediately .

anyway...

Sorry, I guess I can't please everybody with the details.

Ok, he chased, he followed me to the light, got into the lane next to me, and lined up with me evenly. (I notice just about everyone I've raced where I live does NOT seem to rev their engines... including myself so you won't get that.) I get him on the launch since he's auto, he's floorin it, he can't catch up, goodbye, have a nice weekend.

Oh, I mentioned this to my wife when I got home from work. She said she beat her friend's Silverado in a non-modded 95 Neon...(and it was purple...the Neon)

Just thought you should know...

Well they are 16 second trucks. Dunno how an automatic Civic would fair against it. Good kill for the wifey.
