2002 SI vs. 2001 EX

A friend of mine wants me to run him in my car. Its nothing personal, just a friendly run. Who do you think will win? Im thinking the SI, because of the power difference between the SI and the ex. Doesnt the SI weigh more than the EX? I concider my self a good driver for 1/4 mile races. I havent seen him race so I could have a chance. I dont know Ive never ran a SI so let me know what yall think.

Friend:

AEM SRI
Lowered 1" or so
17" Fireball
HKS Dragger (I think, it is HKS)

Me:

Stock EX wheels and hubs
DC SS header
DC TCS Cat-Back

I raced my friends 2001 EX and destroyed him. It was at the track too, beat him by 2 seconds. The EX doesn't stand too good a chance.

BTW: I've been driving stick for 6 months, so it wasn't because I was a better driver

What was your vs his time? I ran a 16.5 stock. That was my first and only run at a 1/4. Ive autocrossed a few times with the civic, but that doesnt count.

ive raced new Si's and won. I have CAI, Exhaust, and a Short Shifter with good tires. Im a pretty good driver, ive gotten off a 15.9 at the track. The Si was stock. I didnt win by very much, but i did in the end.

ive raced a couple Si's in my mazda and destroyed them. On another note Iv'e raced a 6th gen EX with CAI and a 50 shot and a 7th gen EX with I/H/E and a 50 shot and both did MUCH MUCH better than the Si's did. The Si's don't stand a chance but those 2 civics were right on my tail.

There is no way the 03 ex has more power than the 01. Its the same damn engine. Only difference is that the engine is newer.

I dunno... if the driver's skills with the EX is better, I'd put it on the EX. The Si is wearing 17s and an EX on stock wheels. The Si doesn't have enough mods to really outperform stock by far thanks to the 17s. The EX has an exhaust, probably meaning it's lost some low-end, maybe even some mid-range power. The Si does have the advantage but I think both cars will have like a buslength of a difference between each other in the end. Some people can barely break 15s in their Si although it certainly isn't that difficult.
