New Cavaliers possible 7thgen killers?

Well a new Cavalier, his exhaust wasn't stock, and I'm not sure what he had under the hood if anything. But we lined up. He wooped me pretty good, I quit beating my car up after my front end was with his rear. Granted I have a heavy *** speaker box in the back and a passenger, but are the new Cavaliers good, or did he have to have something under the hood? Cause I've taken out old ones plenty of times. Not Z24's, but the other models. Anyways. . just seeing what your thoughts were. Kinda made me mad. . I wish I had the $$ for a boost. .

Cavaliers are all "Z24"s now because they all have the z24 engine in them, but they weigh 100 lbs more than a civic. And have 140hp... they are generally considered to be the same speed or a bit slower than a DX civic. I believe they hit less to the ground. But they sell Superchargers at the chevy dealership and some people buy them... I think its dumb to buy those cavaliers with superchargers because you could just buy a cooler car. But some people like that **** its called Chevy Performance or something dumb... Turbo civic would own it, the supercharger only gives it like another 30hp

The new style cavaliers (Still 3rd Gen) are not Z24's the Z24 line up was drop in mid 2002. The Z24 had a 2.3 (180 HP) in the first half of 1995 and a 2.4 (150HP) in 1995-2001/2. In 2002 some came with the 2.4 other came with the 2.2 Ecotec (140HP). Now after 2003 the Z24 was no more and Cavaliers all came with 2.2 Ecotec. (140HP & 145TQ) no they are not at the same speed or slower than the DX. Now in 2003 you have the LS sport but all it is, is just bigger wheels I believe a body kit and sport suspension.

The Supercharger from Chevrolet is only for the 2.4 engines and it will give you 30HP to the wheels. I have seen dynos from 165-171HP to the wheels.

The new 2.2 Ecotec doesn't have a supercharger from the chevy but there are afthermarket turbos. In 2005 they will have a 2.0 Ecotec Turbo with 220 HP.

So in the end the "new" Cavaliers with 140HP and 145TQ have a higher chance of betting us.

Yea, those new Cavs' are tough. I raced one that was auto and he had three people in it and he was at my rear wheel the whole time. It was stock and I have CAI, catback and a 5spd. I know I was shifting good also, almost flawless, I won't mess with another one until I get more mods.

True.. I'm gonna have to have something cause I'm weighed wayy down with that speaker box. First time I ever ran with one though. . So I found out the hard way.

Anyways. To get back at the Cavalier I raced my friend in his old junky RS one.. . Like early '90s with some serious issues. I owned him . . It made me feel a little better, but it was more like picking on the retarded. Just isn't a good win. .
