Me Vs. My friend and his 01 Intrepid

wsup people...at work i have this co-worker who says "man, my v6 will kill u dawg!", "oh, u don't want none of this"...basically talkin **** right...everytime i leave work he is always waiting for me and revving his engine...so, i can't take it no more and call his *** out...(there is a 2 mile straight-away around the block from my work place)...

I pull up on the right and he pulls up on the left...and i tell him to count to 3...
1...2...3...

we both own automatics so we both mash on it....1st gear he has me by 1/2 a hood(expected, the dodge has 200hp/190 ft. lbs) 2nd gear he has me by a 1/4 hood...and when my car hit 3rd gear i pulled on him hella hard...its like his car done shut down in 3rd gear...i got the kill!

What suprised me the most is that i pulled on him so hard in 3rd...(i think imma go back to the track soon! hehe)

So anyways, i hit the emergency button and flash his ***...and slow down, and he says...."that was fun man, i got my *** beat"....HAHAHA....another one bites the dust!!

Actually that is kinda funny because I can run high 14's in my 1994 Intrepid ES so you handing this guy his *** must mean he can't drive

Intrepid? They might be a little "peppy" cause of the V6, but I SERIOUSLY doubt high 14s.. that would beam it competes with the ACURA CL/TL-S or Infiniti G35 or Nissan 350z. And tha Dodge havint 190-200 HP (as qouted above) .. coupled with the efficiency of (relatively) domestic powerplants... I really don't think high 14s. a car with 200 HP v6 (family sedan) should do AT BEST 15.8 up to mid 16s. But high 14s? :-/

Yea I agree....I mean you push the pedal to the floor and hold it there.
You MIGHT be able to squeeze a little out of the car by putting it in 1 (or low depending on the car) and then moving it up a notch when you want it to shift. but that would'nt make a 1/2 car length diffrence.

When I had my 6th gen auto, it would bog if you just floored it so you had to ease on the gas & punch it slightly right at the sweet spot & it would go. It would surprise you if you did it just right.

So theres moderate skill in the launch, but thats it, not near as much as a 5spd.
