Focus = crap.
Well, just hit 1300km/s on the new engine and it hasn't been over 4k rpms yet. But i pull next to this Focus wagon at the light. It's one of those situations that in the right lane there's a car parked about 200 meters and u have to either speed up to cut in front of the left hand car or merge in behind him. Well i started slow as usual and decided to speed up a little and notice he's keeping with me as to not let me in... i'm in 2nd at this time and floor it - geezus does this thing go, it pushed so hard my wheels chirped and when vtec kicked in it sounded great, and he was also 3-4 car lengths behind me... why do they even bother...

Well, i was going to get the mazda 6 or the rx8, but i wanted something a bit more in the luxury/sports section so that cut the rx8 out of the picture - but performance wise, they're almost the same. The CL-S puts 218 HP and ~208 lbs to the wheels (260/232 fly).
The mazda 6 interior is.. well, honestly compared to Acura it's crap, and after reading countless threads on Protege5.com and other M6 forums, there's still the famous Mazda rattle and cold engine idle rattle. Also for the price, you're looking at 220hp at the fly with less less torque. Also we bought the TL for my gf the same day i got my CL-S so we got fleet pricing. Ended up paying 36 (Canadian) + taxes for the cl-s (msrp is 41800). Also won the test drive turn the key and got myself $200 Gift to futureshop
.
All in all, yes Mazda makes nice looking cars with great stock handling. But the fit and finish definately isn't there. I recall going to the dealer to have my window rattle rixed 4 times and it was still there the DAY i pulled out of the shop.
edit: the 2003 CL-S is the first year of the 3 (2001-2003) that came with the 6MT and
also the last year of the CL. So hopefully, it'll be a collectors item in the future :P

I wasn't racing either, i just wanted to pass him to merge in and go on my merry way, but lo and behold he figured he'd try to stop me. Guess he learnt how slow his car was.
