Read my post from this morning on here. You should be able to get low 11's if you can just get a good reaction time. My reaction time was .538 and my 1/8 was 11.5. I guess that is decent for the first time ever doing it. BTW, I have injen cai, dc header, greddy evo. But im also sure running on 17's and my heavy body kit made a little bit of difference too.
Just remember to punch it as soon as you see the last yellow light, your car won't start to actually move until the light is green though. But that is one thing i did learn from my first drag strip experience

autos are prob around 2 seconds slower than stick at most when running quarter mile. So i is obvious that the guy didnt know what he was talking about or you heard it wrong. Also, how can 1/8 miles be slower than quarter mile when auto run high 17 or low 18
Do you mind clarifying your point?

Huh?! My friend has an ex with the kms intake manifold, hp shorty header, short-ram intake a cam gear and the greddy exhuast and stick with a revo short-shifter and ran a 17.9, he has a decent bit of extra weight, like probably 100 or so bare minimum..
I got a friend with a -s swap that ran a 15.7, 15.8, and a 15.3
those times cant be that easy in our cars..
