bought bought TCS from Linger
I bought a tcs from linger for $350 shippped (TCS for $350) on 1/1/03. I just received it yesterday 2/3/03. The last post states "no scratches or leaks. Its just dirty from the road, but i will clean it before i deliver it". I expected some road tarnish and maybe a small scratch or two. But, what I got was an exhaust tip that had been bottomed out so much that the bottom edge is flat, there's a small bend on the top of the tip also. The mid pipe looks like it had been pulled across the ground a few times and has small dings in it, and to top it off, the weld is broken on the last muffler where it attaches to the pipe. You can see it made a small hole through the last muffler. I have e-mailed him repeatedly to try and at least get some money back or a full return. At first he told me that he knew nothing about the weld, then that it was just a manufacturer defect. He swears that the exhaust tip wasn't bent when he sent it yet that box looks perfectly fine. He says there were no scratches and that his idea of cleaning is rubbing it off with a T-shirt. I know I did not pay a lot for the exhaust, but I was mislead as to the quality of the product I bought. I just wanted to get some feed back as to what other think of my situation. I also have e-mails that I can post if anyone wants to read them. peace~
Hmmm, I think you got hosed to a certain degree. If I was in your spot I'd be upset as well. I have a TCS that I took off my car & the only damage to it is a small scratch on the bottom of the tip & some scrapes in the center of the B pipe when it hit some speed bumps, but no weld breaks or holes & when I was thinking of selling it I still wasn't gonna ask for more than $200. For $350 I would expect no severe damage, $350 is still half price for that exhaust, not a real cheap price. Anyone with a car lowered 2" or more & a TCS will drag that tip all the time if they don't go extremely slow over all bumps, inclines, & declines. Thats how I got the scratch on my tip, but I only scraped it ONCE. Well to sum it all up, I agree with your position, I'd be mad too. I just recently got screwed on a sale of Ground Control Coilovers, The dude refuses to pay & ignores my Emails so I know how ya feel. Goodluck
