New Pics of New Wheels + Pullies

Several of you have asked for pics of my new wheels on my car, so check out my updated ride section. They're Primax 618's with Falken Ziex Z rated all season performance tires (205/40/17). I know, I know I need to drop my car. To find out why I'm not check out this thread I posted: http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...13#post1153313 I also finally installed my AEM Underdrive Pullies and there are pics of those as well. Enjoy!!!

You notice any difference in your ac or radio? I heard aftermarket pullies tend to make your ac and radio run lower than normal. Are you experencing that?

No noticable difference at all. My AC might be a little warmer but its hard to tell because it didn't get hot until a couple of days until after I installed them and this is my first summer with my car. Regardless it still makes the car nice and cool and does its job. I don't feel like its not working enough at all. I definitely felt a better throttle response and I really can feel a kick in power once it hits about 4500 rpms that I didn't notice before the pullies. I got them used for $80 shipped so I would say it was a good buy.

In actuality the AEM pullies could be called overdrive pullies. Underdrive is produced by making pullies smaller in diameter than the stock pully. Hence the unorthodox underdrive crank pulley creates underdrive because it is smaller than the stock crank pulley. AEM pullies like I said could be considered overdrive pullies because they are larger than the stock diameter accessory pullies. Unorthodox Accessory Pullies do not create underdrive because they are the same diameter as stock, but free up hp because they are lighter than stock. AEM's accessory pullies are larger in diamter than stock, but lighter than stock. The lightened weight free's up hp, but the larger diameter helps to negate any loss of efficiency to accessories from a smaller than stock diameter, or a same size diameter but lightened pulley. When people talk about their AC being not being as cold, or not enough power being available for their systems because of the installing the AEM pullies, AEM made them larger than diameter to negate this loss. So if you think there is a noticable loss of efficiency with the accessories with the AEM pullies (which there isn't) it would be even more noticable with Unorthodox's accessory pullies which are only lightened and the same diameter as stock. Its a little hard to explain but hopefully you get the jist. So yes I mispoke by saying AEM "underdrive" pullies, but remember underdrive has nothing to do with it being an alternator pulley, or any other pulley for that matter. Underdrive is a result of reduced diameter of pullies, whether they be the crank pulley or accessory pullies, and not in reference to the crank pulley. Underdrive pulley does not = crank pulley. Underdrive = a smaller diameter pulley than stock. Therefore underdrive could be made through any pulley that is smaller in diameter than stock.

AEM pullies for our cars are both the alternator and power steering pulley, with the exception of the Si which is only the alternator pulley I believe.

so youd suggest AEM over UR? do you have a dyno or know of the power gains?
