I was pulling into my friends driveway the other day for the first time since I installed my front lip. It looked like I had eenough room so I pulled in slowly until I heard this gut wrenching noise, I got out and saw this awful scratch
I've finally come to my senses and have decided to ask you what I should do before I do anything. I don't have enough money to take it to the shop so I'm gonna have to do it myself. Here's a pic I took today(hopefully you can see it, it was raining out
) Give me some advice please...

That really sucks! I hate to say it, but the only way to fix it is to repaint it
It totally broke through the clearcoat. I dont even think you can mask it very well. Just my .02, maybe someone else will have some ideas.

I was thinking maybe just tape off the little section, sand it and get some of my paint in a spray, prime that spot then paint and clear, then try rubbing it out to blend with the rest?? Maybe that sound stupid but my dad was saying how he did that before?

i say just use some touch up paint...its near the bottom so most likely you'll scratch it again if its a daily driver...don't spend the money repainting it until you scratch it some more...

Ouch. That's kinda harsh. You're not going to be happy trying to "touch" it up. You're gonna get done and it's gonna look less than perfect and it's just going to cause more stress. If you don't have a lot of $$ definately don't waste what you have doing a half @$$ job that you aren't going to be completely happy with. I have some dings and scratches I want to get fixed too, but I just don't have the money right now, so I'm just going to wait until I can afford it rather than trying to get it fixed myself. So just save up, or charge the repairs, either way get it done right so you feel better about it. Anyways. That's my emmotionally attached 2 cents.

I'm just gonna have to touch it up for now, then prolly next spring have to get re-painted cause I'm in huge debt right now. Thanks for all the suggestions though.
Ouch
A girl at school scraped my rear bumper real bad like that and they had to sand and repaint the whole thing. The guys said something about painting just a small area like that on a plastic bumper might make it peel at some point down the line. So I'd touch it up for now if your in a tigh spot like you said, but I would definately have the whole thing redone at some point before it really looks like crap later.

I didn't read all of the responses, but heres my advice. To make it look perfect you will have to repaint it. But you could also just use your touchup paint. Because it is a the bottom of the bumper it iwll not be so noticiable. Thats what I did with the front bumper on my Cavalier. I hot it liek that the day after I got it back. It is painted with a custom red/copper paint, and I just used red touchup paint. So far barley anyone has noticed, I mean like 5 people in the past 10 months, and its been in a few shows.
So I say try the touchup method, and if you still hate it than get the lip re-painted
