Ok, so last night i get off work about 5:05, i start driving down the road to goto a friends house, and traffic is kinda busy. We start moving about 50-55 mph, <speed limit in that area> then it slows down to about 40-45 then all a sudden the pickup in front of me desides to slam on his brakes, due to the car in front of him, the car in front of the pickup started to move lanes, then hit the brakes, so the truck miss that car, and i slam right into the back of this ****ing truck. at 40. Both air bags go off, i jump out, made sure the guy in the truck was ok, and the funny thing is, there was already a car wreck, w/ a cop already there. so he seen it all. so 1st some other car wreck, then mine, with in 30-35 mins 2 other wrecks happened in the same damn spot, im thinking WTF is going on, anyways im still pretty pissed, i just wanted to cry when i seen my car. i just turned all the info into state farm, they seen the car, most likely its going to be totaled. My question is, if it is, they are going to give me a check for what it was worth b4 i wrecked it, its a 2002 ex, strut bars, upper and lower, SRI, 17 inch rims, 20% tint all around, has 37,000 miles on it< i drive far to work>, some gauges, obx cat back exhaust, custom header, they are going to let me get my stereo out, and the strut bars, SRI < the tube is ok, the filter is smashed but i have another. What do you think my car would sell for on a car lot, kbb.com says its worth 12,495, to a private party, in Excellent condition, and it was, im hoping with the mods left on it , ill get 13 for it, then im looking into a 2001 acura interga ls, 20,000 miles for about 13. And i did look at it, its in great shape, some old man traded it in, Do you guys think ill get 13 out of state farm for the civic? and is that acura a good or decent deal?? here is a shitty pic of the car, ill scan some later

I think you can take any salvagable (sp?) parts out because those parts were not included in your coverage. Thats the way I always thought it was.

they will, but the header is fuked, and the exhaust is also, its bent where the header is, so im just going to take some of the parts,

You probably wont get 13 for your car. And you probably wont get jack for your mods. I would expect more around 10 or 11 grand. Sorry to hear about the accident. Oh and the integra for 13 sounds like a great deal, just make sure there is nothing wrong with it.

I got almost $16,000 for my totaled 02 EX with no mods, 17,000 miles, in perfect condition. My apprasier told me that if a car is heavily "modded" its worth less, because if the car wasn't wrecked and you were to sell it to the public, it wouldn't fetch a premium price. This is what he told me and I'd think that a Gieco crash apprasiers word would be correct.

You need to find out how much you owe on the car, if you owe more than the insurance check is, you're up sh/ts creek. The insurance company will first payoff the car to the lender and anything left over after your deductable is yours.

Glad to hear you're okay and no one was hurt, I still don't remember anything from my accident.

Take whatever you can off the car no matter what. Leave whatever OEM parts you have in the car so that insurance if they decide to salvage will give you more since you have the OEM parts still.

Ive got great news for you. I just totaled my car, it was the exact same car as yours, totaled in nearly the same way, mine was a little worse. My car was stock. And State Farm gave me 15,600 for it. So you should get more. Sorry to hear about your car
