just spent 250 on remote start....worth it?
i was gonna let them fix my alarm but then all of a sudden i wanted remote start in my car, so i asked them how much...first they qouted me for 180 parts and labor and tax...thought it was a good deal....an hour later they called me and told me i need more parts....extra 80bux...cant say no cause the remote start chip is already in the car and they were nice and stuff, so i said fine. total comes to 255 with tax and everything, the chip cost 80 bux labor was 170. after i got home, i thought about it...i dont regret it but its buggin me....maybe i cant see it thats why its buggin me

From what I've heard they prolly had to somehow bypass the stock Kill switch. Not a very smart idea IMO but looks pretty kewl when no ones in the car and it starts up
LOL BTW Better watch ur car extra careful. Number Two had his system stolen from him we believe by a local audio shop who did his tint. :|

i have no regrets on the thing i spend on my car, i just love it. and remote start is worth it, the convenience of a Benz.

Oh yeah, along with the topic... I have one, I really like it.
Although I got it as a gift, I think its worth it. Its cool when its like zero degrees outside and snowing when you can walk out to a warm car. Plus, if you turn your system up before shutting the car off, you can start it and find your car by the music. hehe, i love doing that

I've had remote start on my car for over a year now and I love it. It was the best $300 I've spent for my car thus far. It's great for the winter to warm the car up (as long as I leave the heater on) and for the summer to cool the car off (as long as the AC is on). Let the car run for a few minutes while I'm still getting dressed and it's ready to go.
And, it's the whole coolness factor too in freaking people out with the remote start in large parking lots. Watching people walk by and start the car, they freak out and jump.

and watching ppl jump and they're all like "what the f*ck?.. there's no one in that car" hahaha... just that right there is worth it all!.. haahhaa....
Its relative in my opinion, if you're happy with what you paid then cool. In my case though, I think its too much, since you can get remote starts installed for free at places like Best Buy and Ultimate Electronics through alarm package deals. I got my alarm (Python 880XP) installed with all options including remote start for free at Ultimate Electronics and its no payments or interest for 18 months. Although, since my car is a manual I had to install the clutch bypass myself and they forgot to connect the remote start to my climate control wire (I'll do that later).
