In your case was it a hit and run? Even if it was a hit and run insurance will cover it. How is turning your wheels equivalent of 1st? Either way if the E Brake fails the car WILL roll.
I don't think the car cares if you double check your E Brake. Once it fails you can say hello to a car accident.
Don't get me wrong, you can do whatever you want with your car.

I hear what you are saying. But like said everyone has there own way. I just like my insurance low and a lil body damage compared to a 5 g transmission. insurance goes higher! But what ever. I have been doing this way for 10 years and 3 cars and never had that happen. But to each there own!
The wheel on the curb acts as a block stopper! SO just parking youll be fine. Rearended nothing will help you!
