I pull all five here: Click Me
Only two are clear though, you should take those close up pictures with the camera's close up setting. Read the user's manual.

Also, can someone explain to me how that block guard is supposed to work? How can it prevent damage to the block if it doesn't fit snuggly?
Black99Vtec: Sorry dude, can't move it back to General Auto Ramblings. I'll make it sticky though.

So you've destroked the car... what is the bore and stroke on your car now? And what are you doing about the cooling problems associated with installing a block gaurd on the D17?
And now we're starting to see a little proof. You certainly have a pic of a short block with a gaurd, as well as a set of 1.6liter eagle rods....

Hey, I still wanna know what your bore and stroke is, now that you've destroked the car!
And by cooling problem, I'm talking about the cylinder head, and top of the cylinder wall. The block gaurd prevents coolant from reaching that part of the cylinder walls. block guards are usually recommended for off-street use due to that problem, and are not so great for daily drivers. Daily drivers are generally recommended for just re-sleeving to strengthen the cylinder walls.
Also, when you destroked the engine, you are causing more side load on the cylinder wall, which doesn't help your cooling situation. You might want to look into this, if you're going to continue down that path!
I don't totally believe you yet, and am still skeptical, but if you are getting these things done to your car, knowledge is power, and knowing this info can only help.

well the stroke is a 1.6 because thats the crank shaft i am useing. i have a crakn that came out of a dohc d 16 motor. it looks like a ls crank but its shorter. it will be fine on the street as long as u dont drive it hard all the time. the bore is 75mm (stock bore) . and if i eventuayl get a turbo i will jst get a thicker head gasket. to drop the compression a lil

crank out of a d16 dohc? you mean b16?? I don't think there was a d-series motor that was dohc.
your stroke isn't 1.6. that's your displacement. your stroke is in millimeters, like the bore.

So it's confirmed that a 6th gen crank shaft will fit our cars? Was this modified in any way?
What about the pistons? They're 6th gen pistons?
I thought that the 7th gen has eliptical combustion chambers and eliptical pistons to get the 1.7 litres in a smaller package than the 1.6 litre 6th gen block? What's going on? Wait, did you get the sleeves made to be round? I guess that makes sense. Makes the sleeves round and use round pistons.

since i am useing a d 1.6 crank i needed to buy d 1.6 rods and d 1.6 pistons. this is de-stroking a motor. the gains are.. to rev better and higher. why is it causeing more side load to the walls? and our sleeves are not eliptical. they are round ubless ur smokin some crazy stuff. haha there all round from what i know of. ![Suspicious](https://www.civicforums.com/forums/images/smilies/face-icon-small-shady.gif)
. i gaurentee that it will put over 200 hp to the wheels with out a stand alone and with out the 10k rev limmit. also to achieve the 400+ hp goal i will be running a 200 shot direct port (track only) and a 100 - 150 for the street. and traction will be a problem. but they make control centers for your nitrous. what this does is regulates your shot. you can adjust your shot to hit a certain % at each rpm for each gear. this make the nitrous spool like a turbo does and will not break your tires loose in 4th gear!
i would love to race the s2000 for some money or something since he thinks it cant be done. but this is all in theory and we will not know how it all works out till the end of jan. so will see hope for the best!

since i am useing a d 1.6 crank i needed to buy d 1.6 rods and d 1.6 pistons. this is de-stroking a motor. the gains are.. to rev better and higher. why is it causeing more side load to the walls? and our sleeves are not eliptical. they are round ubless ur smokin some crazy stuff. haha there all round from what i know of.![Suspicious](https://www.civicforums.com/forums/images/smilies/face-icon-small-shady.gif)
. i gaurentee that it will put over 200 hp to the wheels with out a stand alone and with out the 10k rev limmit. also to achieve the 400+ hp goal i will be running a 200 shot direct port (track only) and a 100 - 150 for the street. and traction will be a problem. but they make control centers for your nitrous. what this does is regulates your shot. you can adjust your shot to hit a certain % at each rpm for each gear. this make the nitrous spool like a turbo does and will not break your tires loose in 4th gear!
i would love to race the s2000 for some money or something since he thinks it cant be done. but this is all in theory and we will not know how it all works out till the end of jan. so will see hope for the best!
secondly, just because you destroked to a 1.6 doesn't mean you needed to get a new crank and pistons. the crank and pistons have nothing to do with your displacement. the crank I could see because of making it easier working with the new rods, but the pistons didn't have to be from a 1.6 liter engine. and you will not put 200hp to the wheels with the work you have done right now.
yeah, i'll race you once your car is done. but since you say it's a daily driver, let's see you get all that power to the ground with street tires.
i'm not trying to cut you down, but some things you say/do don't make sense. i believe you have a block guard and eagle rods, but i don't believe you have all you say you have done.

one question for the s2000 man where is the stroking of a motor done at?? well if u knew anything you would know that it is done in the crank shaft! what makes you think that the crank has nothing to do with the stroke? ok you got it as soon as my car is running to par we will race with out slicks and make a movie of it and put it up on here! it wil be sick! how confident are you? $$$$

displacement = N*stroke(mm)*bore(mm)*bore(mm)*.0007854
N is number of cylinders. .0007854 is a constant
If you have a 4 cylinder D17 civic... it's displacement is 1668cc....the stock rods on a D17 are 94.4mm and the bore is 75mm.
4*94.4mm*75mm*75mm*.0007854 = 1668.1896
oh gee, look at that... a stock D17 has 1668cc's displacement.
now let's see. in order to de-stroke your car, you have to change your rods, since ROD LENGTH gives you stroke
.... as you've said you've done.... you got 1.6liter rods. this changes your stroke to 90mm, since that's what the stroke is of that rod.... (the eagle h-beam 5394A3D)
So your equation becomes 4*90*75*75*.0007854 = 1590.xxx
Well whaddya know... there's your 1.6 liter displacement engine...
NOW... point to the part in that above equation that has to do with the crank changing size and thus changing your displacement.
Do not try to pretend you know what you're talking about, because I will only prove you wrong.

how good do you think d 1.6 rods will fit on a d 1.7 crank???? oh yea thast right they dont thats why we need to buy a new crank! i love how the poeple that know nothing about cars say things like owned again! haha
gaurentee that if you put d 16 rods on our stock crank the piston will not reach the top of the cilinder and you would loose compression. this is why you need to get a new crank. the durration if you will is diffrent on that crank than ours is!! make any sense? dont pretend to know what YOUR talking about. you ignorent a$$
