Car Broken into Last Night.....

I live in the nicest area with a police department right across the street from my apts. I park my car underground and its gated and you need the gate opener to get in.

My cousin comes to my apt today and tells me that my front passenger window is busted open. I take the elevator down and check it out, finding out that it was totally smashed. All they took was my radar detector. I have rims, lower, and lights on my car. My rim lug lock key was in my car, so luckily they were too stupid to find that. It must have been fast, b/c I know that the door wasn't opened, all they did was reach in and yank it off of my windshield. There are Corvettes, Mercedes, S2000, Z28, Bimmers, etc in the garage too, just to let ya'll know how nice it is. I've been at this apt since Aug 30 of this year.

While cops were checking out the scene, this guy was like he rolled into the garage late at about 2 last night, and he said it was already busted. So it must have been between 12 and 2.

~his other old guy rolled up and told me that his Acura RL got broken into about a little over a year ago. They took his system, and he went after the Apt People and they gave him $1800 for it. He said that they degraded the security system in the garage, there are cameras too, but they dont even fuggin work!!!! So I'll see what my dad is gonna do tomorrow with the Apt people. They should pay for it...

Well I'm discouraged and I'm thinking about selling my car. I'm still in high school, and by selling it I think that'll take off a lot of stress on my parent's back. I'll be moving to California in December anyway, so if it'll happen here in a nice neighborhood, it'll happen there. I want to buy an old school car and just deal with that.

I have Tenzo R 17" Passion 5 Gunmetal Rims
Neuspeed Sport Springs
Black Tail Lights
~I'm about to put everything back to stock, so I can see how much I can get for the value of my car.

QUESTION: How much do you think I can get? I've had it since Jan '02 and 11.5K miles on it so far. Springs and Altezzas I'll try to sell. Rims, I'll be getting ripped off for them b/c I payed $1000 and if anybody will even give me $800 I'll be happy, but I doubt it, so I think I'll just put it on my new (but used) car, that is IF I end up selling it.

Why on earth would you wanna sell your car just because it got broken into and your "discouraged"
WTF?! And how would selling your car take stress off their backs? That makes no sense.

we're not the richest people on earth, but they still managed to buy me a car. Actually its just my mom thats paying for it (but thats a long story). Shes and entrepreneur and runs a 99c store in San Diego, but she's making the payments on my car as I go to school here in Texas. The economy isn't really on her side, so by selling it she'll have 1 less bill to pay. I'm just a spoiled brat anyway, I dont think I deserve an 02 civic. I think God did this to me for a reason. I now realize that luxeries and flashy cars are no longer important. I dont know, I'm going through some trance right now, I need to vent a little....

dude, if you're gonna be movin out here to sd, you WILL need a car. here in cali everything takes like 20 min driving just to get anywhere. just cuz it got broken into is no reason to get rid of it. get a job and pay for your own car, instead of your mom shellin out the cash. and it might get broken into here, but it might not. it all depends on your neighbors and if you talk to them or not. cuz i live in a ghetto azz neighborhood with wanna be thugs and nothin has happened to my ride. just talk to them and tell them (if it is a thug infested neighborhood) and most of em will respect you and your ride. they will tell their boys not to touch it either.....thats what i did, and it works.

and for the record, civics are not flashy cars.......

I'm just crazy talking. I think God was testing me to see if I would give up so easily on my most loved posession. Well nope, I plan on getting money for the window and get it fixed, and the money I get for the radar detector I'll use to buy HKS Hiper Exhaust. Thats the spirit Sidney... I'm still scared as of this moment though, the car is still sitting there with a missing window, but I took everything out.

Steph: I'll be finishing off at Scripps Ranch H.S., but most likely be living in Chula Vista somewhere in the ghetto. Its not the people that you do know that'll steal from you, its the people that you don't know. Maybe I'll end up staying somewhere else.... But I offered to pay for the car monthly for my Mom, but she was like no its ok. I'm here in Texas and she's there in Daygo, so what can I do about it? I'm currently saving money for registering my car there when the time comes, and an exhaust... So thats where my paychecks go, oh yeah and lunch money I know what you're thinking "Dayam High School kids."

Very true. I dunno what I'd do without my car if I was in San Diego.

Do you have an alarm system? Dealer alarm doesn't count. (No window sensors.) If not, you should get one.

Keep your car. To have a new car that won't give you much problems in itself is reliable transportation.

God had nothing to do with it. It was not a test, it was just to see how you'd react. My last car was broken in to once, just got it fixed and moved on with my life. Don't sweat it, you're a better man than some trash of a person who would stoop low enough to take someone else's byproduct of hard work. Just move on with it, you're better off than that.

Yeah, and about the selling thing... That wouldn't be possible anyway b/c of my suspension work. I've got camber kits on the car and I don't feel like taking those off and getting my car re-aligned again and all this and that. Now that I think of it, I've spent a lot of money and time on my car, and I cant just give up on it.

The only down is that I know that it can happen again, at any time-even as I'm typing this. But they have nothing left to steal, maybe my rims but I have locks. I think I'm gonna put the stock tires back on pretty soon anyway, just to use them up. My bro was bytching at my today(with a lot of profanity) telling me to take off the rims and the lights and just put everything back to stock b/c "Your car is a target and you're asking for shyt to happen to it, and dont buy anything else for it either." Its pretty discouraging when the rest of your family isn't on your side about things.

Well thanx guys, at least I know ya'll are...

yeah but if you do live in Chula Vista, and it is ghetto, gettin to know the ghetto neighbors helps, cuz they will watch your ride and will tell their peeps to tell their peeps not to touch it....thereby creating a snowball effect in which all the ghetto thug peeps won't touch your car. (simple really). and this method does work....havent' had my ride broken into ever, and i got some bling bling rims, with a system that bumps 24/7.
