Rep Power: 0 Hello again! I got a new Civic! This time with more punch!
Hello, I am so stoked about my car.
But a bit of backstory first. I registered to this site years ago back when I had bought my 5 speed 99 Civic LX.
I loved that little car. Yeah it was underpowered but it had that distinct fun driving feeling.
Everything was good till a few years ago.
Owning this car became a living hell. It became the target of thieves.
My precious little Civic got stolen from my street twice.
The first time, cops found it a few miles away with the car stereo out (they were trying to steal it but couldn't) and the clutch was burnt.
With my dad's help I fixed it, and put a Silverline exhaust (I probably shouldn't have).
Ever since, I always parked in my driveway and always in front of another car.
Then, a few years later, I decided to try my luck and parked it in my street.
Not even a week passed, and the car got stolen again.
This time, cops found it in another driveway, with no gas, the steering wheel messed up (it even had a club), and the headrests stolen.
I decided it was enough, and realized it was going to be impossible to own this car again, so I junked it.
A few weeks later, I got another member of the Civic family, but this time, with more punch.
I got myself a Civic SI.
Very different experience from my old Civic.
This car is bigger, roomier, with a lot more tech.
Love the infotainment.
I did read before doing my purchase and now that I have it, I can say the new SI is more of a refined experience. It is kinda like a sporty luxurious sedan. It is definitely a subtle ride.
And of course, manual transmission.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
