Re: My First Aftermarket Part

if you don't replace that filter with a brand name one like AEM,K&N,Injen, etc etc your going to introduce debris into your engine. don't believe me the next time you remove the filter to clean it check the the walls of the tubing they will be caked with dust. also make sure the filter is not in contact with the hose for your cooling system or vibrations could cause a hole to form. your also missing a hose clamp in the middle connection and whats with all the electrical tape around your air temperature sensor ???

Re: My First Aftermarket Part

Your center mounting bracket isn't mounted?

New filter would be good. A smaller one would fit better and not hit the hoses.

Re: My First Aftermarket Part

Congrats on the new part!

like these guys said, I don't know much about the sensor, the tape is a bit odd, but missing the clamp is important to fix, and a better quality filter will make a big difference and be much better for your vehicle. The cheaper piping is not a problem, but definitely throw a new filter on there! Nice ride!

Re: My First Aftermarket Part

Not sure for others here but I find the K&N spray oil a scam.

I've run my K&N filter for 5 years and raced her hard in auto X and have never sprayed it once.

I only was it and change my oil every 5,000km on synthetic.

Anyone else decline to spray?

Re: My First Aftermarket Part

I use the spray.

I don't think its necessary just an added layer for dirt to get trapped in.
