Speed9117's '01 Civic
Speed9117's '01 Civic
So I've been meaning to post some sort of build thread or whatever (not that I have too many things planned at the moment) and now that I'm on winter break and have some free time I thought I would. I got my Civic back when I was 16 (I'm 20 now) and it was pretty much bone stock other than the wheels and window tint.
Here are the mods I've done so far:
Engine/Drivetrain: Megan Racing Header, Vibrant Streetpower muffler (In the mail), Revo SS short shifter, custom weighted brass shift ****
Suspension: Eibach Sportline springs, Tokico HP (blue) struts, Energy Suspension polyurethane front lower control arm bushings, SPC rear camber kit
Exterior: Honda factory lip kit, cleared factory headlights with Morimoto H1 projector retrofit and 6000K HIDs, yellow fog lights, Type R style grill, tinted taillights, debadged trunk
Interior: RSX tan leather seats, Clarion CZ-500 head unit, Boston Acoustics 6x9 speakers
Wheels: Motegi MR7 17x7 wheels, 215/40/17 tires
I wasn't able to do too much for quite a while, but in the last 4 months I've had a ton of projects. I did the retrofit over the summer, did the RSX seats this fall, just picked up the OEM lip kit last week, and have a muffler on the way! I've done pretty much everything myself or with the help of friends thanks in large part to this site and all you cool peeps. Great DIYs and advice

I'll post up some pictures after I get the muffler installed and such. Anyway... Lemme know what you think. And don't flame the chrome wheels to hard haha. I'm not a huge fan, but that's what came with the car and they're not bad for chrome.

Thanks
The shift **** is one of the smallest mods, but it's one of my favorites. I made it myself after hours at a shop where I live. Nothing better than making something from scratch and having it come out well.
Yeah that lip took me soooooooooo long to find. Factory lip ftw

There's a lip kit that Honda made and it's nice as hell.Seems to be the rarest lip kit you could find.Forgot the name though.
Re: Speed9117's '01 Civic
Idk even know what this one is called. It's a Honda OEM kit though. Some poor guy wrecked his stockish civic and got the kit off before insurance took the car.
But yeah, Honda had this one and then the aero/HPD kit too I think

The lip kit I'm talking about was like something crazy. It was only available on a Civic of a certain trim and year in Canada or something...Not sure about the Canada part

nice car man =D. i didn't even notice it wasn't an si modle because of the lip kit. but then i looked again and saw the mirrors and handles. did you get the car repainted or just the kit?
Re: Speed9117's '01 Civic
Thanks!
Lol yeah it's the American LX trim. That's the only thing I kick myself over sometimes is getting an LX and not waiting for an EX, but it's not that big a deal. I didn't have to get either painted though actually. The car was red and I got super lucky, and the lip kit the guy was selling was already factory red so it went right on and matched well enough without anything more than a polish and wax.
I've thought about going to a junkyard to look for painted mirrors and handles. Your paint matched ones make me jelly lol.

it's gotta be the Reverb. Just a slightly modified aero kit from the US version from what I've collected. I've heard people talk about the Reverb but didn't really know what it was till now.

I've always thought it was kinda weird that Honda (or all companies for that matter) have so many tweaks from country to country.

The Reverb is so nice. The downside of it is that it has manual windows. Why Honda did this, i will not know. But it did come with the 6disc cd player from honda. Maybe a rear sway from an ex/si as well, not sure.
