just some little questions bout my civic.
just some little questions bout my civic.
so after almost 2 months of waiting,
i finally found a job, and i finally got my baby back.
and now that i have her back, i can't stop thinking about things iwant to do.
since i just started working, i don't have much money to do big things i wish i could do. but my friends lately have been telling me to not even bother building off my car, because they think it wouldn't be a good base for a faster car.
i have a 1997 honda civic ex. the motor is the 1.6l sohc not vtech. whats your thoughts? i know some of you will really know what i'm talking about, and will have good feedback. so i decided to quit talkin to my friends about it, and ask the people who really know.

Re: just some little questions bout my civic.
dont bother spending too much money into it, that motor will require ALOT ofmoney to make fast (meaning with enough money, u can get a crappy motor to be fast)
if u want some hp, i would swap a B16, build it, and boost it.
jsut a word from the wise... in the automotive hobbist world, u GET what you PAY FOR...so if u going to start going with egay cheap crap n such, ur wasting ur money.

BUT! however if you increase horsepower the only mods you will need to "handle" it would be brakes, better suspention, and tires..
anyways.. if i were you and wanted to throw down some ballin *** power.. i would save my money, and buy mounts, ecu, harness.. for a b16 motor swap. with a B series motor you can buy "cheap" parts ( I.E intake, Headers, ect. ) and still be satisfied.
Re: just some little questions bout my civic.
im honestly just thinking.
make this car last until i can save up and either do payments,
or invest in something newer.
i love my car, but nothing beats that new feeling.

save your money....and do it right....dont try and nickle and dime your car....if anything...do a couple of mods that dont require you to put money into an engine if you are just going to swap it out....do things like suspension and window tint...maybe some tight rims....
