Re: Turbo Turbo Turbo

im not really too worried about the fact that it has 80k miles on it because i know the guy that owned the talon and he never dogs his stuff i mean it's not like im trying to run anything over 8 pounds of boost im putting it in a d16y7 i just want it to be a little quicker

doesn't matter if he "dogged" it or not, 80k is a lot of miles. and a lot of hours/days spinning at 100,000+ RPMS

go new, or go home

Re: Turbo Turbo Turbo

Search, maybe?

But I'm with HondaNOS, regardless of how I feel about the name. Turbos spin very, very fast, even at idle. I know they're well made, but this is a lot of wear and tear on a component. It'd be worth your money in the long run to buy a new turbo. You'd end up having to replace it anyways.

Re: Turbo Turbo Turbo

my turbo is about 16 years old with just an upgraded wheel. it does fine. spools hard until redline. i had the turbo rebuilt with a stage 2 wheel and put new oil seals in there just to make sure it was good. no shaft play or nothing. i am using a turbo off the old school single turbo 300zx. holla

Re: Turbo Turbo Turbo

If you got $50 bucks on it! You can pretty much have anything rebuilt....it just gets into a price match......Is it worth it to pay someone a couple hundred to refurb a turbo or buy a decent new turbo?

Internal W/G t25's go for pretty cheap brand new! Couple that with an hks manifold and you have your self a very nice budget build! Boiler maker I believe is still running the hks & making good power.

t3 super 60 cheap!

Re: Turbo Turbo Turbo

I'd say 50 bucks, and its not a T25, its a mitsubishi turbo, with mitsubishi flange on it, its not gonna mate to a T25 manifold without an adapter plate
