red stich jdm shift boot
red stich jdm shift boot
The title says it all. I put it in last week and well, I like it.
I like the matte finish more than the shiny one that was stock. And before anyone says anything I know I need to get some silver paint on the collar ASAP. I've already painted it once. Somehow i smear the paint away.

Re: red stich jdm shift boot
I may take you up on the shift ****. As far as painting goes, all you have to do is sand it down with relatively high grit paper ( i started around 400 and went up to 2000) You have to get the really high grit stuff in the automotive department most of the time. Then I put a coat of white primer and 2-4 coats of silver. Let it dry for at least the night, preferably a day. Doing this made the paint look like stock, but I didn't use a clear coat, which is why the paint's rubbing off. I didn't want the sheen that comes with clear coat though.
I also painted the silver part that goes around the boot and the tip of the e-brake.
Re: red stich jdm shift boot
Just came across this thread. Good info for a noob like myself! Just ordered an Acura 5spd shift **** (08u92-s6m-200a) to hook up to a Revo SS kit on my '01 civic. Brushed aluminum shifter just arrived in the mail today...looks sweet!! Just waiting for the SS kit to arrive and we'll see how it goes!!
