My $50 paint job attemp!!
My car needed paint. . . Bad. I didn't feel like dumping more money in this car than I had to, so i decided to try the $50 paint job.
here is the thread i got the idea from
http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread/1555133
My car went from this

then I had a fender bender

Then it was like this

Then the paint job began
(i didn't take pics of when I painted the hood/trunk/roof)
9/25

9/26 (2 coats)

9/27 (today 2 coats)

I'm going to do 4 more coats, then buff & polish the whole car to get a decent shine.
Comments are welcome

On the first white picture down, the paint looks like its running down where the taillight was? Is it dripping or something?

^^^ Really? I love the look of the 04-05 front ends. Why don't you like it? All it takes is fenders, hood (maybe?) bumper and headlights right?
Anyway good luck with the roller job. It looks like its coming along nicely. I was going to do this, but decided to say **** it and just bought a compressor and gun instead. I'm glad I did because I use it for so many other jobs now too!
Can't to see the results man.

man... a roller sounds like a seriously ghetto way to paint your car. Mayco or whatever its called does full paint jobs for 350 bucks.

Re: My $50 paint job attemp!!
It is "ghetto" but I don't have $350 to spend on a paintjob at maaco that will fade in 2 years. All the money i have is going into furnishing my appt when i move on monday. After this moding my civic is over. I'm just gonna drive it until the wheel falls off.
Re: My $50 paint job attemp!!
Im going to give this a try on the front lip i have sitting in my garage.

subscribed. I really have no idea how this is gonna come out, but won't it not feel like car paint after it's done? Are u gonna try and make it smooth where after u wax u can just slide ur butt across the car?

Re: My $50 paint job attemp!!
after u put the additional coats of paint make sure u have a couple coats of clear on it and also make sure u wet sand that down or it won't look good at all. Doesn't look too bad for $50.
