My $50 paint job attemp!!
Re: My $50 paint job attemp!!
A roller?!? If you're already spending $50 on paint and a ton of time and effort rolling it on, might as well spend another $200 and get a quick spray job done at Earl Shieb or Maaco. I'm assuming you'll spend at least 24 hours from start to finish painting, prepping, sanding, etc. At minimum wage, 24 hours * $7 per hour = $168. Add the $50 you already spent for paint, and you've already invested at least $218 into this roller paint job.

hows it coming? I also noticed this is canadian product, where do I get it here in the states? Im not painting my car...but one of the guys at my work wants to give this a shot on his racecar.
Re: My $50 paint job attemp!!
here's one i did, i went through it extensively, and am now redoing it, the paint i used turned yellow on my doorjams and behind headlights. i'm redoing it now with real car paint.
i used yacht paint which has a better shine. if you're just going to do this on the exterior it's fine, for some reason it didn't like to be covered up, so it turned yellow.
this is what i'm going with now, $1500 in supplies.

I was looking at this yesterday also at honda-tech and I'm really thinking about doing it, I bought a hot rod magazine that shows you how they did there $50 paint job too and at the end it came out so good.... This will be my next project for sure, I would like to see the results of your car when your done and maybe you can hook us up with a diy lol.
