I Love Cops!
Yeah, so I was in my room and I saw volunteer sheriff van pull up on the side of my EM2, then he backed up and parked behind my car. So I am watching this volunteer guy walk up to my VIN plate on my dash and he started to write down my VIN. So I go outside and tell the volunteer what are you doing? He said I had no license plate and I’m getting a ticket. I told him my car is parked and I changed my license plate to a JDM SOHC plate because I was doing a photo shoot and I went to Race Legal last night and I didn’t want thieves to know my license plate number. He replied there are no original plates present and your parked on the street so that’s a ticket. I said I had my license plate in my car, so he said if I put it on now he wouldn’t write me a ticket. So I went to the garage and got a 10mm socket and I put my rear plate back on. I wouldn't care if I was driving and a cop pulled me over, it's the fact my car was in front of my house... I think that whole thing was pretty wack and San Diego cops’ trip off stupid **** and that’s why there’s no funding for dragnet!

Thx for the lookout man. I'm moving down there for school soon. Guess it's time to put my front plates back on lol.

Re: I Love Cops!
he's a volunteer sheriff driving a van. HE IS BORED
being a volunteer means that he doesn't get to join in any exciting sheriff work.
driving the van means that he probably got to his shift last, so he got whatever was left.
Re: I Love Cops!
Sounds like he wasn't too big an *******. He let you put your plates on, and not get a ticket. He could have let given you a ticket, and made you go to court to show proof you had plates, but then he would be an *******. For all he knew the car was stolen. Oh, and manahoonie has a great point. lol
Re: I Love Cops!
Quit whining and put your damn plate on!
So if your car was stolen and it was parked in front of the theif's house without a plate, you wouldn't want a cop to check it out????!!!!

Re: I Love Cops!
you cant be mad at that cop at all.. I myself am becoming an officer. i can see if he was volunteer only because hes doing it for fun and not being paid.. but the street is owned by the twp and state so whether ur parked or driving its considered the same thing.. you mite not think this but alot of people do drive around with those plates or drive illegally.. what if you car had something to do with a terrorism threat or attack lets say. you could be drivin that car around and no cop would be able to trace that plate back to a name or address.. if it was in your driveway thats a different story. its not just cali its everywhere. if you dont have insurance on a vehichle it cant even be parked in a roadway here or on the property lol..
Re: I Love Cops!
yea makes sense... i usually dont care to be pulled over until they start f**kng wit me den its a pissoff... all it means is my car looks mean enough to stir up some attention righ? jiji

Good God, thats in SD? Dude, I live in a small town in Jersey and there is WAY too many cops for a place this small. My car sticks out in town due to it being one of very very few modded. Well one morning, 7:55 AM, a cop (know in our town to be a complete and utter DOUCHE) fvcking pulls me over for tint (which isn't even THAT dark) and no front plate.
I hate Jersey rules and cops.
Haha but atleast the dude didn't write you a ticket after you put it on..still, I understand.

It's also illegal to be intoxicated in your vehicle with the keys in the ignition....even if you're asleep in the backseat. That will end you up in jail with a DWI charge. Not a stupid law, just don't do it I guess.
I was pulling through the Canadian border into New York last month and one of the guards was walking between all the cars just checking them out. He turned and pivoted on his foot to go down another row until he saw my car. He stopped, turned back and came over to talk to me and ask me a bunch of questions. I don't hate him, he's just doing his job checking out a car with a higher probability of being illegal or carrying illegal goods. We talked for a bit and he walked away.
I'm not bashing you for hating cops, but consider this. You're a cop. The sergeant pulls you into his office at the end of your 6 month probation to talk to you and questions you about hearing that you have been leeting people away with breaking smaller laws like no front license plate or tint or whatever the case and asks you why you haven't been ticketing for this. Then he asks why you don't have any similar ticket writeups on your record to find out you've been letting these people go on the discretion that you don't think it's a proper law and nobody should care. He then tells you that the laws are made by the state and you nor they have any discretion to change them and if you want to keep your job you'll uphold the law in every circumstance. Otherwise you'll be suspended, possibly fired. Now how do you feel? The cops don't do it because they're *******s, they do it because it's their job and they're told to do it.

Re: I Love Cops!
i have found that if you respect the cops and don't act like they are doing something wrong (ie, writing a ticket for a small infraction), they are usually pretty cool about it. they are not all dicks.
