dusk photoshoot w/new LED mods
Re: dusk photoshoot w/new LED mods
stock bulb is 7443, two filaments. my bulb is 7440 silvervision. one filament for turn (the bright one). if you have stock 7443, you can either buy a 7440 bulb, or bend and remove the two inner metal contacts of the 7443 bulb. the outer two filaments (one on each side) is for the turn signal.

Re: dusk photoshoot w/new LED mods
thanks guys. the leds are really nice, i can have the parking lights on now when its cloudy and they are very visible not like the old lights. brake and turn signal is also so much brighter, i light up all the road sign behind me.
ill get some more pics of the markers today if it ever stops raining. the rim im gonna just keep for now, i dont have the money for that and hopefully they sell one rim at a time. im just wishing it doesnt rust up cause the whole clear coat layer got scraped off.

ya the led ones def match the car alot better. jdm ones were way too dark and just didnt blend as well. the led ones also make car look alot more expensive lol. ive already had 3 people tell me it looks like mercedes lights.

for the trunk light, i decided to get a 1 watt RED x-lamp led and mount it on top with small heatsink.

Re: dusk photoshoot w/new LED mods
just do not plug their stupid connectors in and hope they work. two of mine did, the other two i had to bang the light and it was flickering, the other one was not even wired properly lol. so dont just plug it in and hope they work, cause youll be wondering every time you step on the brake whether it works or not. what i did was get a test battery (must be 12v), and remove their wires from the sockets. you dont need to cut, they just bend out and pull apart from the lil plastic piece. the trunk inner lights are super easy. two wires, just figure out which is + and which is - then splice into the parking light harness, + to red wire and - to black. the hard part is the outer tails. there are 4 wires per tail, and they are not really color coded so you need to test them. it took me a while. two are grounds, one is park power, the other is brake power. the two grounds are easy, just look at the bulb socket before removing the wires and see which two wires share the same connector spade. then ground those two and test each of the wires separately to figure out which is park and brake. now on the stock harness, black is ground, and you need a multimeter or test light to figure out which is park and which is brake. just see which wire gives a signal when you have the park light turned on. be careful, its live wires. dont cross the connectors together. then cut and splice like before. the physical install part went okay, the lights fit where they should and have lil gaskets to seal out water. mine still havent fogged. they have lots of ventilation from the back. oh and if you dont like the orange turn bulb, just buy the wy21w 7440 philips silvervision from powerbulbs.com they are silver when off and light up amber when on, brighter than the orange bulb even. dont forget to test each piece after you wired it in. have someone press the brake or use a stick to press it. i used my jack rod to hold it and wedged between seat adjuster and pedal.

Nice tails. I thought you were not into them. They do look good but they are still to pricy for me at this moment. You did so many nice job to your car, that's for sure!
