My cousin bought a crappy electric supercharger the other day, and I must say it looks like a piece of crap. There is no way these things can work, right?

ummm with cars there needs to be be an optimum air-fuel ratio... that happens to be 14.7... the more air, the more fuel... now you must account the fact of engine speed... superchargers are belt driven and turbochargers are exhaust driven... meaning the higher the rpm, the more air sucks in, which then the more fuel it needs... if no fuel moddification (fmu, bigger injectors, higher fuel pressure/flow, or any other similar thing) then it will get no more then a regular bolt on... now if this thing does not sense engine speed, then all its doing adjusting the atmospheric pressure in the intake which is negligible... hence why do turbo systems have recirculating, or blow off, valves and this have no need for that... you will get as much gains as putting a hairdrier on your intake... tell that to your cousin so he can comence the kick into his own ***

Rep Power: 328 ^most of them only push 1psi and that really does nothing....
there was a time (my ricer era...about 18yrs old) when i looked into those thing...and the most reptuable one was the Eram.... it has dynos n test runs n all... but it was like 500....
in conclusion - stupid, rice...and a waste of time/money.

At full throttle, the e-RAM automatically activates to produce 1 psi additional air-pressure to the engine intake. This additional air-pressure results in greater air density reaching the engine. The mild level of boost from the e-RAM is measured by the engine management sensors, and the car's computer (ECU) increases the delivery of fuel to keep the air-fuel ratio at optimum levels. <-- got that from the site that sells e-ram for the people that are prolly wondering how it works and all. Not really something i'd say is worth it, espeically with the price.

does it matter on the type of sticker you put on your car? will better product manufacturer stickers produce better power than others? like will an HKS sticker make more power than a.....APC sticker?

^^^The actuall products matter but not as much as the color. For example the highest horspowa sticker is the BRIGHT YELLOW THE LOWEST IS WHITE. So given the previous statement. A white AEM sticker may yield a 5 hp gain while a Yellow APC would yield 30. That is 30 WHP YO!

I love that site, it is where I buy all my D17 parts. I have the Cross Drilled brake lines, and the adjustable power band, waiting on my Johnson Rod.
