Rep Power: 217 i need your input....
dont know if this is the right section but as some of you know i just recently totaled my car. i have about $8500 to play around with and was thinking either and integra gsr or like a 99 or 00 civic si. right now im leaning towards the gsr but they are harder to find with low mileage. what do you guys think?
thanks

Rep Power: 257 Great choices but be super careful buddy. I don't know how close you are to Philly but these cars are stolen all the time. I'd hate to have to worry about that all the time but I suppose if you live in safe place you'll be straight.

Rep Power: 0 integras used to be the most stolen car in america so you ALWAYS have that in the back of your mind. ive known 4 people who have got them stolen after dumping a few grand in them. awesome car though and if you dont have to worry about cars getting stolen from where you live then hell, go for it.

Rep Power: 244 Tell your dad it isn't a domestic that will only see 100k miles. Just make sure it has a new timing belt and runs good, and you shouldn't have any problems. Oh yeah, my vote is for the teg also!

speaking of, I noticed a modded G35 around the block, I thought about putting a sign on my window- "dont break into my car, there is a modded g35 around the street!"

Rep Power: 0 If you get a teg be careful. Speaking from experience, I had a 98 GSR that was stolen and stripped, and it was in a suburb of Northern VA. The funny part was, it was the second time my insurance had totaled out that same Integra for being stolen and stripped (I was immature and hadnt bothered to check its CARFAX before I bought it). Fun cars, but highly stolen. If you are going that route, a 96+ hatch with a nice swap and sleeper styling might work nicely. You can find swapped cars EVERYWHERE now, so its not a bad route to go if you know the swap was done right. Just go look at the Honda-Tech for sale forums, and see what you like for your price range.

Rep Power: 217 nah i dont want to get a swapped car, just due to reliablility and never knowing if it was done right, i would rather have a fast stock car. what is your opinions on the gsr, pros and cons?

Rep Power: 787 its really not worth the security you will have to do to keep those cars. doesnt matter where you live, it will be stolen. maybe not right away, but within a year or two guaranteed. but if youre up for a challenge, go for it. just dont think having an alarm is gonna help at all.

Rep Power: 0 Just to let you know, if done properly, swaps are VERY reliable. Most Honda swaps use mostly OEM reliable parts, and are just about a direct bolt-in with some B-series. Even K-swaps for B-series generation cars are quite reliable. So, make sure that if you buy a swapped car, it was done at a reputable shop and that you get the engine they are claiming they swapped. Swaps are a great way to get reliable power for the buck, especially with B-series'. Going with turbos and superchargers and bolt-ons would worry me more on relaibility than a swap. But, just my 2 cents!!

You Stay Classy, San Diego
I'm not sure how hard it would be to find but what about a 99 or 00 civic siR. They have a b16 in them and are relatively cheap. You get the power of a b-series motor, and the safety of not having to worry about ur integra gettin stolen. Other then that point i'd prolly say get the GSR or say forget the gsr and just get a Type-R. My friend has one and it's amazing. One of the nicest cars i've ever been in.
