Anyone have this problem (pics inside)

The rubber around the sunroof of my car and my brothers has started to deteriorate, my brother has a 05 civic his was bought new, and mine was bought used, an 01. We are going to the dealer soon ask them about, i was just wondering if anyone else has gotten these problems. Is it just from the elements, our cars are kept outside.

either get a garage, or check with the manufacturer and reorder new seals.

My supra targa roof seals suck even more i bet.

i've had my car since 02, and its been parked outside for about... 2 years of me owning it (i've been stationed to 2 places where i dont have a garage) and the only thing about my rubber seal is theres very slight discoloration.. a couple white spots here and there...

whenever i go all out and detail my car, i armorall the black trim pieces (cleaning wipes and protectant wipes) including the runroof rubber, the black pieces that run the length of the roof, and around the doors and stuff.. that may be why.. iono tho

yea, you must live in some kind of climate with toxic air and acid rain, it looks like your car is melting away.

Thats Normal to any thing like rubber or plastic,Once they exposed to sun or cold weather. Try to put some silicone seal U can buy it @ Cad. tire..U dont need to buy new insert..Well gud lock..

Do you live in a region where it snows? If so it could be due to the salt that they use to melt the ice. The salt could have gotten to the roof when you drive on the highway.

my car's been from the dry heat of vegas (parked outside due to lack of garage space, with the exception of a few months), to the humidity of south carolina (parked outside for my entire time in SC ~ 10 months), to a full winter season in upstate NY (driven daily and parked in a garage half the time), and through rain and shine in washington parked in a parking garage most of the time, then it spent 6 months in my friend's front yard, completely exposed to the elements)...
