as some of you may know, i totaled my car 2 months ago today.

i recently stated that i was purchasing a Volvo V70T, but that fell through, and i also came to realize that the car doesn't really suit a twenty-one year old.

So, i've looked back to honda and i recently picked up a 1994 honda accord.
I am not interested in a full blown mod session, but i was wondering if anyone knew anything interesting about this car.

The engine code is F22B1, or C1, not sure. I was curious how much potential this engine has, the claimed power is 145 hp, which probably puts out 130 to the wheels? What gains do you think i should expect from intake and headers? Any cosmetic suggestions?

since its an older car you might want to do some maintnance on it. check all the seals, gaskets, bands, hoses, etc. You dont want to do a mod and end up breakin something. Drain the fluids and start with some fresh good ones too. As far as mods for that car, you might be stuck with the same ol i/h/e. im not to sure about that engine.

how many miles on your Accord? 130WHP may be on the high side... especially for a 13-14 year old car. But you do have displacement in your favor and I/H/E perhaps will net you more power on the F22 than on the D17.... good luck!

if it's an auto and being that old, probably much less power to the wheels than you think. older cars lose compression over time, generally, and it is likely to be 10-15hp at the least less than factory. though it depends, of course. f22 is a good engine to build on, btw.

nice upgrade, better than civic for reliability, just get it upto speed maintenance wise and you should be good. the stock intake is actually really good just change plugs, clean throttle body and iac, filter, put some lubecontrol.com inside fuel and oil, stuff like that. should be running like new in no time.
