Keep the trim there, your gonna see alot more dents and scratches if you remove those. I find a new dent/scratch every other time I wash my car.

yeah the molding helps but on my 05 there is a real thin clamp-like thing that runs down the side of the door and i think that thats better more simple, and clean looking. as far as protecting it more i dont really think so only because not everything out there that is trying to F**k up our cars is at that trim level, but at least if you had that "door gaurd" it wouldnt be the car you'd be scrathing if you happen to open your door and hit somethin
